3 x Best and Fairest and 6 seasons as captain puts him as a champion of the club.  It is phenomenal to look back and see what was asked of him every week before Vince, Cross and Tyson were brought into the club.

Have really liked seeing him spending time in the forward line this year.  Gets the ball in tight, can find the goals and makes some big tackles.  Definitely not a defender or a wingman, but there may be an ongoing spot for him as a forward.

Well done Nathan on achieving 272 games.

Nathan showed last night that his best football is still in the middle feeding of Max's taps.

Jonesy isn't a winger but gives it all he has but no-one roves to Max as he does. Clarry, Viney and Gus could all learn from Jones on this art. Harmes is IMO the closest to Jones with his reading of the Max tapout. I would rather left sided only, Viney stayed in the forward line and worked on locking the ball in our half

If anyone cares to reflect on Jones' loyalty in tough times, consider this -

Robert Flower: 272 Games, 88 wins, no draws, 184 losses

Nathan Jones: 272 Games, 86 wins, 3 draws, 183 losses.

Another side note, since his debut he has missed a total of 11 games.

For anyone too young to remember Flower, these figures are solid evidence that the bulk of the era in which he played was equally miserable for Melbourne supporters as the recent years in which Jones has played. However, Flower's ethereal brilliance made attending Melbourne's games a joy. Winning was just a bonus.

Well at least someone on here has had the stones to apologize to El Capitano.

A few religious posters on the forum big noted him for the chop during last season and the off season.

Cue Pauline Hanson.

Shame, shame, shame on you all who doubted Jonesy boy.

Thought I saw the writing on the wall late last year, but he has come good. It is the second coming..

Please start writing off more of our players if it results in them having similar form reversals.

No coincidence that Jones form has improved since he started spending more time in the middle.

He is not a winger.

And he's running into fitness,  like half the side is, atmo.

Bump*

Is everything ok with the Jones boy?  Saw his presser today in Darwin and he just doesn't look great.

Hoping this is not the case and could be just lacking some decent sleep but thought i would ask in case someone might have heard something on the grapevine.

The club needs to string together some wins and support this guy.

Hes a champ surrounded by very timid hearts.
