Random thought - has Buddy ever kicked a bag against us?  I cant remember him ever kicking more than 3 or 4 goals.

I know his record against us is 15-0 thanks to Fox mentioning it twenty times this week.

He's kicked 6 once...5 and 4 a few times

I don't think we've played him with such a weak leaking defence yet. Fun times ahead.

Problem will be...try and take him away from the game will just open it up for others.

Not enough wallpaper to cover all the cracks.

42G 43B in his 15 games against us. Biggest bag was 6 in 2008. Stats provided by AFL Tables.

The cheer squad banner makers would not have slept a wink last night with this predicament.

Don't forget the laugh as well..........wtf

On a lighter note, both these boys in our backline will be well aware of what they are playing for tonight.

I have three tickets to the game tonight spare after a family illness.

They are located in Section 3 of the O'Reilly Stand, Row X, Seats 54, 55, 56. We will be sitting in Seats 52 and 53.

This is a great location at the SCG to watch football.

If anyone wants them at half price ($35) then please send me a direct message today and we can arrange to meet at Gate F tonight or I can send them to your mobile number.

best wishes

To have any hope we need t o try something different. If Frost or OMac play on Franklin where going to get flogged. For mine start Max at CHF; Preuss to the ruck and TMac on Buddy. It might not work but will guarantee if we start with a predictable line up we will get hammered.

Just on my way to Sydney, let’s hope our season turns around tonight.

On my way too.

Why, I have no idea.

Will our 2 bookends in the Mac  brothers find some form for the first tim e this year?

Will those senior players who have been out of sorts come good?

Will Weid revela his finals form of last year?

Perhaps a miracle will occur and we finally beat the swans.

Like all Dees supporters we are back to hoping against hope. Again.

Well at least tonight we wont have the constant momentum killer in ANB butchering the absolute basics of the game.... I don't know what to expect tonight after "circling up"- One things for sure Sydney have been pretty bad at home the last two seasons... They haven't looked great this year either, hell if we were blessed with playing the blues in the first 3 rounds we too would have a win on the board... I'll say we will win, but with zero confidence at all.

Now people are saying tmac should go back to the backline. I don't agree but maybe he should be rested tonite. Buddy would have a field day on him. I hate to say it but Frost is our only hope. He has played alright on him before and this would almost be like a last chance. If we lose tonite and omac and frost dish out more of this seasons rubbish then straight out of the side.

As an aside, it is most interesting that the media (such as Fox and Channel 7) are now talking-up the Swans and their key player strengths against the 'now famous' and endemically weak MFC backline. 'Leaky' and 'disinterested' are words heard in these descriptions, or read in other media articles. This is groundswell. The MFC have been media-anointed and the general public just expect the Swans to roll onto the field for an automated victory tonight. So, the AFL will be turnstile happy; the umpires will be primed; the MFC will be restricted from doing almost anything correctly via errant rule interpretations, interruptions to the game plans and the old syndrome, 'you cannot do that against Sydney...'

It would be terribly satisfying if none of these concerns appeared or occurred at those critical game moments of which we are all familiar. What are the chances that a level playing field in such regards was enforced? We all know the answer: None!

'Carna Dees....................

Onfield, we have some lines that are very near being the best in the whole League. Have we lost this match against the Swans before we even step onto the ground?

Splendidly nice gesture - a sign of a commitment to great teamwork on DL. I hope that someone can take up the offer you have made.

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
