Farewell Dom Tyson

It's a shame things didn't work out for him at North. I've seen him a few times at the Cherry Tree down in Cremorne and the Denis The Menace cafe round the corner. I think he has a golf apparel business with his brother that should keep him busy post AFL.

Sports equipment business in the parental family as well. They’re good people. All the best post footy, Dom, and thanks for your service at the Dees during a tough period. Will always remember his big last quarter snap from the southern Punt Rd. corner at the MCG when we beat the Hawks for the first time in whenever. Hope he can get around the boys now.

I will always remember the pivotal role that Dom played in that amazing first up win at the Adelaide oval. He was a valuable pick up for the time in that he was ready to go straight into the team and make an impact. Importantly when Roos brought him over he made it clear that Dom was expected to play his role, nothing more.

Thanks for your time at the Dees, hope he gets on us for the finals!

Thanks to chronic injuries. Come off it Joe, you knocked him even when he had good games.

No I didn’t . If he played well I acknowledged it.

I don’t play favourites.

Given my display name, I feel obligated to post in this thread and I'm disappointed that I haven't already done so.

Really rated Dom when he was at his peak and played a good role for us, still remember that goal against the Hawks in 2016 which helped to break that run of losses to them.

hope he gets another shot at it if he wants to.

Thanks for everything Dom!

Nice post.

Will you now be

or maintain the Tom?

I've been heavily considering Meven Stay or Gax Mawn, but Sparlie Chargo now has to be contemplated.

It did work out. We got him during his best years, he was a valuable contributor during the rebuild, we continued to build after he was traded out, and he got a much longer career than the average AFL player.

Only pity for mine is he couldn’t quite notch up 100 games for the club.

Sorry Nasher. I meant for him. I liked him, hence the 'Dom' in Domgus Petrogan.

Should stick with a midfielder in honour of Tom Dyson. I suggest James Jordon - which will then become James Jordon

Harking back to an earlier era ... Flobbie Rower

That is one name that should be respected. How about Darl Citterich instead. Both champions, sadly Robbie was taken too early. Imagine if we had him on one wing and Langers on the other.

Sim Jtynes just doesn't have a good ring to it

No disrespect, it's harmless fun

Yeah I realised that. I  didn't mean to sound like I was having a go at you it's just that Flower was such a special player and he's gone like Wight and Stynes.

You mean Warne Sh!te, like we can expect to hear on The Ashes telecast this summer.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
