It is but if you can't see what Peter Bell is trying to do I suggest you looker harder.

Bell trying to keep Lachie Neale because Neale thinks the club is a shambles.

Bell taking the broom to the club and removing any 'iffy' components of bad culture. Bye bye Harley B.

Nat Fyfe is a questionable Captain - ask any Freo supporter.

Ross the boss has zero credits in the bank. I expect he won't see out the year as head coach.

Peter Bell might seem like a bit of a [censored] but the Freo faithful love him to bits and he will repay that faith.

Whats the goss there?

It's been obvious we are more in favor of getting a good deal for him now than trying to convince him to sign up long term

Yeah exactly which has made me think sjnce it wasfiraf speculates that it was more the club who brought this to a head rather than Hogan coming to the club and saying he wants out.

Not as approachable as other players would like is the main criticism I hear. Too much of a different cat to be a 'teammate' off-field.

And so are uncorrected players.

Im not sure what your point is.... you're arguing technicallites in the rules ie unrestricted, restricted, uncontested but you've missed the fact that regardless of a players contract status under the current rules the majority get to where they want to go in contact or not

Im keepimg teack of the Tim Kelly situation to confirm all the power lies with the players and fa no matter what categoriy you technically sit in fa is alive and well in the afl.

It will be interesting to see if the afl have the balls to address the imbalance and let clubs trade players before they are fas.

Ie the hogan situation, sheil etc to maximise value

You initially said Hogan would leave next year as a free agent. I corrected you and said he is not a free agent next year.

There is still a difference between a free agent and a player who isn't a free agent but nominates a club of choice. The club of choice will still have to figure out a deal to trade the player in. If Hogan stays and decides to leave at the end of next year nominating Freo do you think we will just accept pick 30 for him? How much did we pay to get Lever? Pies with Treloar? Clubs have to be reasonable otherwise they will damage their credibility.

I agree SWYL, even though I don't think that will end up happening.

Would you be happy with a low first rounder (say, Pick 5), and a player like Brayshaw?  I see it as similar to the two first round picks, plus Brayshaw has already had a year in the system and shown he can play.

Who knows what Brayshaw will do after he was KO’d....?

2 Top 10 Picks is what Hogan is worth....

While you're right re: Brayshaw, you could argue that about any Top 10 pick and how they'll make the transition.  There are just as many failures as there are success stories.

2 Top 10 picks can be interpreted a few different ways, as in they don't just have to be picks.  One top 10 pick and a highly rated player would fit the bill as well.

Ok...just in case folk haven't been watching the dance moves, Bell moved to change goalposts. He has to a minor degree. From Freos perspective it made sense.

JM located our posts and ran a flag or two up them to signal the start of the PUBLIC exchange.

Reality is a number of things here. Hogan's real market value will be established somewhere in the middle as that's where the game is and that's how it's done.

Those who think it's 2 prime picks or bust...will find it's bust.

Both clubs need to seem winning. Freo will only give us one prime pick. Melbourne WILL take that but there'll need to be some dessert with the main course.

Both clubs can sell the proceeds as being in their respective interests.

Many are valuing Hogan way over reality. There's a lot going on here out of general view.

Very little of this save the actual picks and icing is particularly overnight.  Both clubs will have been circling this for some time. Disregard the spin... it's spin.

I was on the plane home from Perth after the Prelim with the Freo boys attending the Brownlow. They each had a suit bag. Fyfe had 3.

sounds simple but the low pick is there next year as well.

The icing needs to be good to give up a player for a year while we are in the infamous premiership window.

The only reason it might make sense is those who say we NEED may for our defence. I'm not sold on that idea.

Lachie Neale was the highly rated player...

i am quite happy for Hogan to play out his contract, i want top class picks or else we keep our elite contracted player.

It’s up to The Shockers to ? sweat...

Just the details getting haggled as neither club actually have those bits. They will evolve

I.e this event. Hogan going, is not a recent manifestation.

Oh ...

so his foot has healed, at least for now?

Are you perhaps suggesting that we have yet another crack at a tall King?

Doubt there ever was an injury.

He convenient dumping from the games would be because of other issues im guessing. The club wanted him out of the way & because of it we performed better. We wouldnt have made it as far this year is the mummies boy was sitting in the forward 50 sulking & throwing his arms up in the air when midfield missed a target by 2 inches

He had a crack in his Navicular that didn’t require surgery. He was filmed going into and leaving the specialist. I doubt the club, Jesse and the specialist would have staged this.

That injury can be career ending, why would the club make up an injury that could possibly reduce his value if we were looking at trading him for maximum return?

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
