Every market is different. This is 2018...it'll be different to others as they are to this.

Most of that was after the trade. Same way Hogan will also go into be an AA Coleman medalist, Premiership player ect after this trade.

No, need to correct you there. Judd had ALL of those decorations on his CV before the trade to Carlton.

Give up on this one mate.

Too much assumption in this thread Freo can get Ports picks.  Freo's best pick will be 5 and Lukosius and Rankine are tipped to go earlier at GC 2 or 3, Saints 4.

A top 5  pick I'd give a 1 in 4 chance of being a star, 4 in 5 chance of being a quality player.

There are a hell of a lot of top 10 picks who are just good players, nothing too special.

Hogan is a star - for a 23 year old. Will be unstoppable when he's 25-28. Unstoppable!

Hogan in 3 years time... stop and consider this for a moment.

He is a generational player, a young guy who's had a heap of off field stuff to deal with - and yet - what a contribution.

Think I would prefer to keep him.

Feel pretty confident the FD know his value.

Call me what you want but if we accept pick 4 by itself for Hogan then hand that over for May I won’t buy my regular three memberships next year. That said I seriously can’t see that scenario happening, it is just that ridiculous to me.

Totally shiit attitude.

Hysterical premature lachrymation.

Deal with another suitor.

Thats difficult when the only other team just won the premiership and has pick 18

Who said there are the only 2...  have you spoken to the clubs?

If it was 2019, I'm sure there would be many more than 2 suitors.

4 & 5 is too high for Hogan. Freo will strongly consider taking those picks to the super draft if we refuse to budge on that opening gambit.

Well, they're welcome to them, then.

Tell Ross, take his Cow to market then.   They're may be some more Magic beans ahead of him.

I’ve been called a lot of things in my life but a premature lachrymator is below the belt.

The fact he wants to go back to Perth tells me there is only 2 clubs that can acquire him unless we are looking to trade him to the WAFL

Gold Coast would have more Cap space then Freo and will hold picks 2 & 3. Maybe they are keen for a ready made replacement to Lynch.

I think  the draft picks are arbitrary to a certain point in that pick 4 in one draft isn't equal to pick 4 in another. I think all that matters to the club will be for it to get what it needs to get the outcomes it wants ( May, KK and something else)

Only speculation. I'd say the issue is he doesn't like Metropolis's. like me.

Melbourne has gone past it's very-good use by date... it is too big and stressful, these days.

Someone said, Mrs Hogan is living in Adelaide these days?

So why Perth !!!  I'm not so sure that is accurate.

Now, your starting to think out of the box, Boy'o.

Superdraft is so overrated.

Dont believe the hype.

Freo will make the deal.

Are you sure it’s not our supporters overrating Hogan?

Did not finish top ten in B&F. Played 20 games.

Is it too much to expect you might understand that a player cannot be traded to a specific club without their consent?

Hence the comment about them probably having more cap space. $$ talks.

you need to look where he was placed after 20 games.

iirc some poster posted this and it was better than top 10

b&f is much more skewed to number of games played than other awards

47 goals in 20 games for a high fwd is a better indication

He was 3rd in the count until his injury. That rates him only behind Oliver and Gawn and they are both top 10 players in the comp. Outside of Hogan there aren't too many 50 goal a year forwards in the AFL. What would we have to pay to trade for one? I'm tipping every other club would be asking for the equivalent to the Treloar trade for someone of Jesse's proven ability and age.

Why TF would he go to Gold Coast? What are you smoking?

mahoney can't screw us again at the trade table. He seems far too nice. Why did we cough up 2 first rounders for Lever when he was out of contract and we had all of the power? No-one can pre-empt an injury but we are so far behind on that trade so far. You need to be stronger this time around Josh!!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
