GET UP IT'S GAME DAY YOU MIGHT DEES, LET'S BOOK A SPOT NEXT TO CENTRELINK IN THE GRANNY!!!

I am soooooo nervous. At the start of the week I was relaxed and happy about how the team had exceeded expectations but as the week went on all I wanted to do was to see us bury those smug eagles.

Oliver BOG, Milkshakes with 3, Gawn some crucial marks and Frosty to keep JK to 3 or under. Dees by 9

Ladies and Gentleman, It's time to clip some wings. GO DEES :)

I feel a little crazy
I feel a little strange
Like I'm in a pay phone
Without any change
I feel a little edgy
I feel a little weird
I feel like a schoolboy
Who's grown a beard
I'm livin' in the 70's
Eatin' fake food under plastic trees
My face gets dirty just walkin' around
I need another pill to calm me down
I feel a bit nervous
I feel a bit mad
I feel like a good time that's never been had
I feel a bit fragile
I feel a bit low
Like I learned the right lines
But I'm on the wrong show
I'm livin' in the 70's
I feel like I lost my keys
Got the right day but I got the wrong week
And I get paid for just bein' a freak
I feel a little insane
I feel a bit dazed
My legs are shrinkin'
And the roof's been raised
I feel a little mixed up
I feel a little [censored]
I feel like a barman that can't drink a beer
I'm livin' in the 70's
I feel like I lost my keys
Got the right day but I got the wrong week
And I get paid for just bein' a freak

I AM PETRIFIED !!

Just popped on to say the same haha.

Nice ad haha, wonder if they've stopped the printing of  the 2018 edition yet?

I am so nervous about this arvo. Hopefully the players aren't as soft as me hahaha.

Heres a question.... what the hell are you all going to do to fill your day until 3.20????

Got absolutely no idea. Wanted to get a good nights sleep, get up reasonably early for a run and have a nice brunch. At this rate I might fall asleep at 5 and wake up on Grand Final day.

I usually sleep like a log, but I've been tossing a and turning for a couple of hours.

can't wait

so excited for what later today brings

we have a crack at the contest - i expect we'll give it our best, as we have in pretty much every game since the queen's birthday fiasco...even the horrid saints game we were still trying to win it til the bitter end

they're pretty good, but i reckon we can take em but i have no idea whether we will or not; i feel exactly like i did against geelong

I have no idea what to expect really. I went into both previous finals thinking we would fight hard but struggle to overcome the opposition's experience. After watching our resolve thus far, I can't help but feel confident about tomorrow's outcome, despite the odds stacked against us.

There's been a recurring theme of storytelling trilogies since Goodwin took charge, culminating in the last two weeks. After two heartbreaking losses against the Cats this year, we overcame them on our third attempt when it mattered most. After two losses against his old team since joining the Dees, Lewis finally beat them on his third attempt. If we win today, it marks our third consecutive win against the Eagles in Perth after 9 consecutive losses. It would mark our third consecutive finals win for the first time in 18 years.

I know the fairytale endings don't always come true, but I'll be sending the team every ounce of positive energy I can tomorrow. So good luck, Demons. All we ask is you give it everything you've got; that'll be enough for this Dees supporter.

Out of our control and all up to the boys now.

FWIW, I think the Weagles might start cacking themselves thinking of playing the Pies at the G come GF day, reckon our boys would relish it.

The Eagles will be absolutely flogged next week by Collingwood if we lose tomorrow. Their form tonight was electric (sadly).

Honestly I was fine all week. As opposed to the build up to the cats game where it was all I could think about, for this game I was feeling really chilled and simply proud of the team and the club.

After watching the other prelim final and seeing Collingwood get into that one day into September it actually hit me, we are there, we are a BIG CHANCE. We can most definitely do this.

I'm going to be watching the game at 6:20am in the UK, I don't think I'm going to sleep a wink. Going to test my computer out before I go to bed to make sure I can get the stream of the game with no problems and no delay.

There is pride in the jumper again, pride and belief. They have Kennedy back, this is true, but we have Viney as different from the round 22 game. He has been arguably one of the stand out finals players this year.

Raise Hell Dees!!!!!

I get an extra hour in France: just time to walk the dog and grab a baguette and settle back for what I hope will be a champagne breakfast.

I happened to be up in central Paris today, so called into Belushi's where they have AFL on the big screen, and watched most of the other Prelim. Never again! Those Pies' supporters really are something else, I'd forgotten.

Well im not sleeping cause its only 6pm here in the Netherlands, so its great to be able to read the gameday thread already !

I dont know....ive been really confident in both the Cats and the Hawks matches and the boys did us proud. Could not have stood losing to either of those putrid teams and their coaches and the football world not taking us seriously again. But now we are in the last 3 teams left. Somehow we are ahead of Richmond which is just great.

But this is the hard match. Teams can play bad one week and unbelievable the next as Collingwood have just shown. I think we have another gear to find yet. Will that happen tomorrow? Im not sure. I wasnt in the slightest bit confident last time we played them and we won, so im not totally pessimistic. But it seems so strange that after beating them over there that we have to go and do it all again.

The result could see one of the best Grand Finals or one of the worst.

The AFL would be salivating at the prospect of a Collingwood v Melbourne Grand Final. The first showdown between both clubs in a Grand Final since Melbourne's last premiership 5 decades ago! Nothing would be more fitting.

There's such rich history between the clubs (both as rivals and of themselves) and fantastic stories across the entire ground. The two best rucks all year going head to head. Howe playing against his first team. Weideman playing against his heritage.

It would also be the first all-Victorian Grand Final in 7 years and only the 5th time that's happened since our last Grand Final appearance.

Alas, all the dreaming is for nought if we can't get the job done today. The Demons have their destiny in their hands, it's up to them now.

Sleep is over-rated. I don’t know how the players are able to.

The Team has been getting rid of so many hoodoos. The next one to fall should be our grand final performances. 1988 and 2000 were shockers.

Anything can happen in finals. If the players all lift and it clicks ... you only have to look at the Dogs a couple of years back, even Richmond last year. We can certainly improve on last week - but will we?

I'd love to get into the GF, if only to see Bernie Vince come in, throw caution to the wind in his last match and wreak havoc.

Greece here, I'll watch it on delay after I wake up tomorrow and have breaky (which will be 6 or 7pm melb time) - Just have to not accidentally and catastrophically check the news out of habit. I hate live streams for their penchant to drop out on my slow mobile network and for my inability to fast forward due to nerves.

They were, but Richmond were also lamentable. All our 'we can beat them' thoughts as dees supporters since that Anzac game victory back in 2016 came home to roost last night. Average clearance midfield that hacks it up in the air. GOt destroyed by a great midfield. 1 tall fwd line style that expired within a year, and an overrated defence with 'the best defender of the decade' who can't play one on one. I think the Eagles would put up a better performance esp with McGovern blocking Cox run, not that we'll let em. Gawn will be there blocking Cox from his aerial threat. Go Dees

Thank goodness for mornings filled with chores like tiling and spraying bindii and whipper snippering and Saturday bunnings runs

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
