Yeah itโ€™s too much. And if we lose next week do people here want to see a Collingwood v Hawthorn game that bad?

Yep, another awful thought. One of Collingwood or Hawthorn guaranteed to make the Grand Final if we were to lose. Get me a vomit bag!

Much funnier imagining West Coast being shat on by Richmond from a great height without the home-ground umpiring to get them home.

Obviously. But there's no chance of a Prelim for Melbourne in Melbourne if the Pies can't get it done tonight. One week at a time applies here as well.

It would be fitting to have a Prelim in Melbourne.ย

Eagles will win from here, Pies have choked.

imo eagles the better option here.

we match up better with them and the thought of potentially losing to collingwood in the PF is enough to make me want to vomit.ย

I'd bank us to beat the eagles. wouldn't be very confident against Collingwood.

Pretty much this. Just have to look at the respective matches this year. Our win against the Eagles at Optus was probably our second best win of the year (second only to last night). Queen's Birthday we were thoroughly towelled up. Can't underestimate the Pies at the G, they're bloody good.

Anyway, next week first! Not much point speculating about week 3 unless we can roll the Hawks!

ย

Eagles wont be like last time i dont think...

What was Goldsack thinking?

Or, what ... was Goldsack thinking?

Looks al over now.

So

FRIDAY HAWKS V MELBOURNE

SATURDAY COLLINGWOOD V GW$$

All over.

Was the gamble of bringing back 3 injured players just too big a gamble?

Haven't yet seen a cross the the Eddie clan.

We have beaten eagles the last two years and only lost by I think 6 the year before. ย Should have confidence.ย ย Pity I'll be in Japan and not in Perth when they play :(ย

Oh well. Looks like I'll be watching our Prelim from home.*

*Standard one week at a time terms and conditions apply.

Eagles too god in the end, but I would def back us in if we play them.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
