from around half way through the last quarter Hawks looked like they were playing to save the game

Interesting if that is the case, not the usual Whorethorn.

We can beat any side, if we are mentally ready for 4 Quarters of hard pressure.

I hate to say it but hawthorn are playing good footy. Just glad to see girlong lose. If you mis the 8 girlong thats what you get for recruiting Ablett.

slow delivery into the forward line... stopping and going backwards etc etc... you can say they were playing conservatively but they certainly did not have the risk pedal down

Can we lose all three - and make it?

mathematically

A quick ladder predictor says yes. We can make it with 12 wins as long as Sydney and Geelong only win 1 (Sydney can win 2 if you include the game against us).

Problem with Geelong now is they are following the 90's model instead of the 00's one.

Their best six is as good as anyone in the league. Their bottom six, not so much.

You get injuries to Ablett, Selwood, Hawkins or Dangermouse and they would be shagged to Gold Coast of last week levels.

In the back. But it should have been holding the ball against him before the hawk landed on him.  Furthermore it was very soft - plenty of more obvious similar in-the-backs not paid.

But it was Dangerfield....

It’s a funny game ?

So tomorrow is just so important to win for many reasons but we need to get our spot back off the hawks. We are now 5th.

Gee I really hope the crows can knock off the giants tonight.

Eagles and Port - think it’s another one of those Port to win if we want top four, Eagles if wanna make 8.

Gotta do Swans first.

Barrack for Power.

Just saw a replay of the worpel contest against selwood that set up a goal. Good stuff by the young man.

Great stuff wasn’t it! Should be the RS nomination this week was unlucky not to get it last week.

West Coast are looking like not much chop so far without their key players Gaff Kennedy and NicNat. We're a massive chance over there next week.

Yes it wouldn’t suprise me at all if last week really rocked the Meth Coke boys.

Time will tell the story

I'm aboard the "Top 2" bandwagon. I was just answering a question.

Pretty clear early that James Harmes has to go to Elliot Yeo next week.

If Port win today and we win the last 3 games, we will finish 2nd guaranteed.

My god could you imagine if thats how the ladder ended up r23. Collingwood v melbourne at the mcg week 1. Im not sure I could handle that week.

I can't see port falling out.

On another note Id love to see Richmond v hawthorn in a final not the gf obviously but just to see how the hawks match up against them again.

Yep

optimist.

Six games from Flag

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
