Results have been good for us so far. We should be confident against the Swans and then play the Eagles with eyes on their spot on the ladder.

Then a home game against a team as good as us to have a home final...

We are definitely capable of it. Might need to come out of the huddle at 3qtr time tho...

Not good but doesn't sound career threatening yet, if it was the media vultures (Barrett, McClure etc) would be all over it....that said i wouldn't rush him back this year

They keep flaring up. That is the problem.

So you think he may play only one more game as a result?

I have no idea how many more he will play, but i think it will be week to week management

No intel. Just my own experiences and that doesn’t include elite sport

Bud won’t kick 4 against us. He is playing against a terrible defence.

I think the thing we have going for us is being able to score big. Sydney simply don't score highly enough. Buddy kicked most of their score. Limit him to even 5 and make sure no one else bobs up and we should have them covered.

It's not clear, though, and that's the problem.

In the replay I was watching (real time from the initial TV shot) without slow mo or different angles it was clear to me the spin on the ball totally changed when it hit the post.

..but agree they need to invest more to make the right decisions.

A bit too Mickey Mouse at the moment.

Jack Watts rated dead last for Port in the rankings. WHAT A FOOTBALLER!

4k GoPros mounted on top of the Goal Posts would be a good start.

The angles the AFL use right now are a complete joke. It’s laughable.

Who do they use for camera advice??

Lets not get into this now, positives vibes now are required.

Unless you’re a player who retires mid season?

1. Not a doctor or medico of any type

2. Not seen Viney's foot

3. Never an elite sportsman

Hmmmm.....

With all due respect WYL, pardon me for taking your comments very lightly.

Feel free to do what you like. You have a differing opinion.

I have had foot problems for over 50 years, so i am not a complete novice.

That’s why i am worried

Something tells me the AFL like things being a bit blurry.

They must. The problem could be solved in 30 minutes

Third will be a horrible spot to finish. A likely trip to Western Australia - the second in a month - and then a potential return to play 5th spot - possibly vs Collingwood or Hawthorn - at 'home' - possibly again after one of these Vic teams played the same venue vs 8th spot the week before without having to travel. Finals format is flawed.

We need to take it easy the next few weeks. And a tank may be on in round 23 if third spot is in play.

Agreed, 4th would be much nicer.

Had us beating suns, Swans and giants

lose to giants and we slip to 7th

too 4 has really opened up for us now

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
