On big footy there are over 6 pages from the WC forum on this. Most think he will get 3 to 4 weeks whilst a minority thinks he will get 5 or more. The majority are dreaming that he might be back for late finals.  I believe 6 will be the minimum as what Bugg got but the injury damage is far worse so could be 8.

Bear in mind you are applying "common sense", "fairness", "consistency" and "precedent", concepts that have no place in the modern match review process.

It just cannot be less than the 6 weeks Bugg got. There is no aspect of it that is "better" than what Bugg did. So that's the starting point.

Nothing would make me happier than meeting those pricks from Geelong in finals and knocking them out. Sweet justice. Can’t stand them!

Gaff cannot play again this year.

6 games may not be enough,  imagine he came back in for a grand final.

Disgusting hit from a [censored] bloke.

Do not want at melb

So potentially misses games next year as well. Has to impact on his off-season movements, and price tag. I'd be surprised if the WCE matched any FA offer for him now.

With the Pies and Port faultering and Eagles to lose Gaff (NikNat already gone), the field is opening up for us...

Agreed but internally we should just concentrate on ourselves. All three games are winnable, all three games are very losable.

Sydney will hopefully be feeling beaten up from the tough pies match. God I wish we had Viney playing.

5 thrillers, 3 smackings and... whatever happened in the St. Kilda and Bulldogs game.  I'm not joking when I say I have absolutely no idea in what the result of that game was (nor do I have any interest).

What a round of footy.

One of those being a 'thumping win'.

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
