Chaplin lost me last year when he was seen wearing his Richmond scarf, beanie, jumper and duffel coat to every Richmond final last year despite being a paid MFC employer.

Whether he can coach or not is another story. And it's questionable given he's the coach of our worst unit on the field.

I would have issues with this IF Melbourne FC was also playing finals.

CGAF otherwise.

Or Caracella might get a senior job

I don’t think he’s up to it, nor would he want it.

I would prefer we got a bit more experience and not another novice like Mitchell.

I had my eye on Richardson if the Saints went down in a heap...a great assistant coach but likely to stay on now.

Highly regarded in SA...

Unlikely in my opinion. More likely to go back to Geelong than anything.

Why's that, mate?

Is that right, i saw him on GF day hugging players, didnt know about him wearing a scarf.

That is terrible would he do that if we had to play against Rich in finals the tool.

I don’t see what the big deal is... dees weren’t playing and clearly he’ll still have good mates at the tigers. It wouldn’t impact his day job when he’s ‘clocked on’. Seems like a real nothing thing to care about. I’m professional at work but don’t spruik my workplace 24/7.

Exactly. The MFC was in Bali...

The players had already clocked off

Yeah. I've done plenty of screaming and fist pumps when a non-melb team i'm rooting for scores a goal or wins a game. Dogs v Hawks in 2016 from memory also a Pavlich goal in 3rd qtr v Hawks in the GF. I don't think I've betrayed the Dees...

[censored] not on in my book, hug players congratulate but you do not don the colours of another club, whilst your working for another [censored] him off.

He'll go back to Hawks.

Ryan on the lookout.

Ryan O'Keefe is on the lookout for a coaching role in the AFL.

We could do much worse than look at him.

I'm always interested in the why - aside from how he played, what do you know (i'm genuinely curious) about how he coaches?, why would we want to consider him?

Yes the word discarded is not a good start

Is Chaplin a double agent?

Scooby, Scooby-doo

wouldn't be surprised if the Eagleshold him to their 3 year assistant coach contract. But base him in a Melbourne office...

having said that. get him in now!

A quality person and a great player Ex Sydney;,,,  who has been coaching with the Crows for the past 4 years or so.

* He has the Swans ethics culture, built in... we can expect to meet the Swans in finals in coming seasons.

* He knows the Crows players, and Styles/methods, which we will be playing in Finals against in coming seasons.

* He knows footy inside out,  (especially forward/mids)  & he's looking for a coaching role in the AFL, currently.

* He's a winner.

Other than these thoughts, I can't say anymore than that,,,  other then he's always been one of my Favs as a player.

We have a few players who try to play as Half forwards/Mids.... ROk's specialty.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
