I hear Brayshaw got a paper cut picking up his new contract which has become infected and he will miss 4-6 weeks

And Hogan absent, as mentioned later in article.

Lose to crows, can't see us making finals. Timing...

It didn't look that serious to me and was later in the session

Ben Guthrie acknowledged as much on his Twitter post

Fingers crossed

I read Hunt trained fully, how did he look CJ? We might need to rush him back.

Hopefully just resting up that knee in the back he copped.

Although, given Hogan's track record in crunch games......

Hunt looked good

But I can't see rushing him back given he was dropped before injury

Intersting tho with Casey bye this week

Kent and AvB looked good too. CJ Peds trained with backs also

Apparently he's been outstanding as a key defender for Casey the last few weeks.

Do we bring him in to take a Walker, Jenkins or Lynch?

Yes! Versatile swingman and adds size against their bigger blokes. Supports Maxy in ruck too freeing up Tmac

Doesn't sound too major, reckon he'll be right, along with Hogan.  No drama.

Personally I’d be surprised if they risk him. It’s a crunch game I know but if he plays and strains it properly....

I just saw Norm Smith (Ghost) at the hardware store (dead ringer), he said don't stress, we've got this, go book your GF tickets, the curse has now lifted, won't lose a game for the rest of the year!

Why people bother posting this childish sort of rubbish I'll never know.

Another leg injury hey?

Injuries happen.

If he plays he plays if he doesn't he doesn't.

True but I’m sure you agree it’ll have a considerable impact on our ability to win.

Yep.

No Viney or Oliver doesn't bode well.

I just try not to worry over things I have zero control over.  What's the point ?

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
