As much as I loathe Selwood - Pannell calls “play on” for the spear tackle. Overruled!  This clown and his 2 50 metre penalties cost us the 4 points against St Kilda. Don’t worry about ladder position this costs us.

What Walker did was not leadership material or captain material. He just hits him high. Has to get weeks but will depend if Zac comes back on.

By the way can I just say well done to Kyle Cheney for still playing AFL footy. He may not be a superstar player and no one will ever talk about him but he has been around for 10 years now, 3 clubs and not bad for a #52 draft pick back in 07. Just battles on.

Anyone else think that Eddie's was a goal? I thought Stewart swiped but missed it. Didn't see the ball change rotation in the slow mode.

Edit: saw that replay just now. Probably touched.

The reliance on the medical condition of the player who has been hit high is a newish thing yeah? Would Tex not be in line for a week or two in the past without taking into consideration concussion or damage etc?

As soon as one of these idiot commentators says " Sparkle" Narkle, that's it, I switch the TV off.

Have you switched off yet pd? BT just said “ look at Sparkle”.

Tough game. Hope they pummel each other to pieces and Walker gets two weeks.

This player takeover week of Fox Footy has blown regular viewing out of the water. AFL should farrk off the media and just employ current players to do commentary.

How was Jenkins not held there?

Exactly his arm was being pinned back. On another note this is a great game to watch. Nice and open.

in Q1 Adelaide player marks the ball. Moves his arms as if about to handpass it but doesn't move either foot an inch. Immediate play-on call from umpire 5 metres away.   No wonder they can't deal with difficult decisions.

Some are a tad whistle happy...others think they see things.

Some just ought not be officiating...not up to it.

Reduce umps on field...less is more ( efficient )

The game would be far less congested if umpires weren't so hot on players moving half an inch off their lines and calling play on.

Tjeres more than just him it’s happening to. Something smells at that club... how many of the young ones will look to leave in the next couple of years?

Bolton will be lucky to survive a 1 win season you’d think.

It's not Bolton, its been there for an eternity (turn of the century)...  that stink comes from deep under the Elliot Stand.  Don't know whats under there.

Anyway the powers of Lygon want all the class they can afford.

Even hiding young guns away from the team, resting.  Whilst they remain under the GC Sun.

Guess we'll know soon enough, who wins the Lukosius Cup !

Gary Ablett just got the softest free kick I've ever seen.

If they paid that all the time there would be 300 frees given in a game.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
