Wow, I didn't have him that high but he has outperformed his draft position without question.

Happy we have him.

I bloody love this kid.

IMO he is the best #31 since TGRDB.

Exciting, focussed, skilled, disciplined.

He has been fantastic.    If he was on an opposing club we would be salivating over him and wanting to get him over to the Dees.

He does a lot of things so well, but you cant put a price on that aerial/marking ability + courage.

A top 5 talent at pick 31,  thanks Jason Taylor.

Massive props to have him ahead of Cerra who has future star written all over him. Yet not unreasonable.

Spargo would be pick 11.

JT is smashing this gig atm.

I heard a rumour that Spargo was touted a top 5 pick by some before something happened? Unsure what but when he bulks up and builds a tank he’s going to be a ripper

He has a touch of Brent Harvey about him (CS that is)

The only similarity to Harvey is his size...Harvey was explosive, Spargo isn't.

The jury is still out for me with Spargo, he's only a first year player. I get that.

...but does he have enough tricks?  At his size, he needs them.

My big concern at the moment is he is getting brushed aside way too easily, he really needs to work on his strength. That at least can be worked on.

He has the footy IQ, so that's a big plus.

Will he go on or will he be another JKH?

Time will tell.

That was in his under 16 year, I think he then got an injury (shoulder I think) and missed a far bit of footy in his draft year.

True about his pace but I would suggest that his attitude is similar.  He obviously has a bit of the [censored] about him and I think that is where the similarity lies.  As my wife would say he is a big dog in a little dog's body

I'm astounded that Fritsch (at 21) and Guelfi (at 20) are described as "mature age".

Still going through it. Fritsch at times looks like he's come straight from a Harry Potter film. Wait til he gets thicker.

Bit silly to have Fritsch ahead of Cerra, Rayner, Naughton and Brayshaw. They should be 4-7 on this list. Fritsch a good candidate to be number 8 though.

He's shown more than most of those names. I don't think they adjust it for age/maturity though. Of course guys who are 21 are going to make more of an impact in their first 12 games than 18 year olds. I think the point is some people look at production and ignore potential, which is what's happening here.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
