Very briefly /roughly...

- Goody has an open door policy

- Goody gets to know each player very well on and off the field without taking it too far "Mates" wise

- Gives them plenty of freedom without being ultra strict with team rules while following a basic structure/method (i think).  Resulting in the players enjoying their footy more than previously in general.

- Agreed we are not great in the big matches but are enjoying/learning from challenges and have really only just started to get more experience as a unit in bigger games as we haven't been involved in too many previously.  Defended a little here saying we have won QB matches in the past (being our only recent exposure) and hoping  to get more experience by making finals and taking it as far as possible should we get there.

goodwin himself is a robot in the pressers. how many times does he have to say 'its a disappointing loss and it doesn't resemble the way we play our footy..etc'. eventually it does resemble the way we play footy and if we lose this week to port i don't think we deserve to play finals. smashed by hawks, rich and collingwood have made me feel that we may not be ready yet.

What has this got to do with melk on sen?

Sam McClure is almost unbearable to listen to and I just can’t stand to watch TV with him on.

Reminds me of a ventriloquist dummy the way his gob runs up and down.

This is the persona he projects to the media.  Clearly he is a different person at training, in meetings etc.  When he speaks to the media he protects the players and re-inforces the culture and the expectations he wants to associate with the club.  What is wrong with that?  Nothing.  In fact, it's exactly what we need.  He never got carried away after 4,5,6 wins in a row.  Instead he said that we're doing things right and that we need to continue to do so.  We'll have bumps in the road (ie. Collingwood) but I like the fact Goodwin is working hard to keep them grounded and to play the 'Melbourne way' no matter who the opposition is.

That makes any difference? Maybe he wants to present a similar, stable front to fans and players in those public times?

My post was directly related to the 4th point in the original post. I'm just tired of hearing all of this manufactured dribble..eventually the noise from goodwin's mouth is fugazi until we start winning these games.

So, what happens when a flat track bully in Port Adelaide meets another (possible) flat track bully? A high scoring affair? Or low scoring?

I am tipping free scoring without Lever.

If we can lock Port down i will be stoked.

Maybe even play Hogan off Half Back and Midfield.

TMac must play forward

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
