1986 but did we wear it once for a retro Round?

I remember us wearing it for a Retro Round game in Perth many years ago.  Is that the one you're thinking of... ?

It's not form he's lacking!

I flew down under the cover of darkness on Friday night. I’ve brought some family to their first game, looking forward to a big win.

Today I’d like to see us tighten up defensively inside our fwd 50. When opposition teams try to kick it out long we set up pretty well but when they go the short kick then a series of handballs or short kick/hand ball receive run and kick when get caught wanting.

if he was inform he would be playing

It’s very dark here. They will need to put the lights on very soon. Not much of a crowd at the moment but I have made sure to position myself amongst the Demon supporters. Go Dees ❤️?

We need to win and get our spot back in the 8. Hope for a comfortable win

We win well today and we’re in the top 4.

And that will be a beautiful thing.

Another opportunity to make a move towards finals, we failed our challenges last year, will this be the day we finally stand up and demand to be counted. I think so.

Dee's by 78.

Petracca to tear it apart.

Frosty by the length of the Winton straight.

frosty?

Three ravens on a fence there were,

As black as black as black.

Said one, 'Watch your defence, it's not all about attack.'

'Be sure to spread,' the second said, 'but keep one out the back.'

'The Blues aren't bad,' the third one said, 'they're sure to have a crack.'

Talking birds upon a fence

each with a football brain.

Take their advice and perhaps today,

The Dees will win again.

Looking at the weather radar, the worst seems to be missing us. The odd drizzle every now and then. Keeping fingers crossed. An undermanned Carlton might play like they have nothing to lose. Hope the boys are switched on not like the cats yesterday.

Destroy them.  No  mercy.  Top 4 awaits.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
