Frankston v Casey Demons - Round 7

Good to see an old favourite in Aloysio Ferreira getting a game with the Dolphins. He just kicked a point ... only to be outdone by Harley Balic who goals for Casey.

Yarraville Valley?

I think I’ve been there. It must be close to Moonee Valley and is the only place their truck hasn’t gotten bogged yet.

[censored] autocorrect!!!  Yarra Valley

The procession continued till half time with 2 goals to Tommy Bugg and the lead is ginormous. That was seven goal to nothing quarter.

Casey Demons 9.7.61 to Frankston Dolphins 1.7.13

Goals Pedersen 3, Bugg 2, Balic, Lewis, Lockhart Scott

Disposals J Wagner 12, Baker, Balic, Pedersen 11

Much better 2nd qtr. 7 goals to none. One of the great moments in the frankston outer (getting a bit of local culture) was some nuff nuff getting stuck into pederson. He then drilled a beauty from the boundary and mrs pederson in front of us let old mate know

Bugg should have had a free straight in front and he may have had three goals for the quarter.

The one thing with Bugg is ....you know he's always going to give you a red hot contest and has an uncanny knack of getting to where the ball drops.  Reads the play very well up forward.

Sounds like a quarter of 2 halves with Frankston getting the jump on Casey and the Demons fighting back at the end of the term. It’s exactly what worries me about Melbourne’s game tomorrow - a slow start with the opposition building on early momentum. Casey was lucky that Frankston seemed to have squandered multiple opportunities with poor kicking for goal.

I'll pay that one Jack, 2 out of 8 for that one.

Garlett started to get into it that quarter.

He seems to be playing in the half forward area. Had one kick into the forward line in front of me. It was marked by a frankston player

Yes, been pretty quiet to half time.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
