That is a hard one to pick. Can we pick them all? Lets have a go.

Viney, Gawn, Petrac,Hogan Brayshaw and Oliver. HMMMM!  I love them all . A nucleus of a Premiership.

Hogan now sitting 4th in the Coleman medal while averaging over 20 possessions a game.

Specialllll.

Lever, Oscar, Max, T-Mac, Jesse through the spine. Viney, Harmes, Clarry the inside mid combo and Petracca who I think can be become the best player in the competition. We have the potential right now to be the best and I mean this year, exciting times if the club and players get it right.

When I look at the heading and see " young stars " then I question Maxes inclusion of the list.

Jordan Lewis will end up having a hugely successful career.I'm confident of that.

I picked Viney he will make a good team great.

Clarry will hit another level beside Viney.

I reckon when Jack had fully reestablished himself, look for Clarry to get outside more.

That is one area we have been lacking in.

Timing really is everything. Trac is a little down atm so he hardly gets a mention.

I’d still go Oliver but this could easily be Petracca. 67 votes to 5 is not an accurate reflection of the gap between the two.

That list has a tall forward, a tall back, a ruck, and five midfielders.

And of the midfielers, no two are alike.

I can't bring myself to speculate on any given one of them being 'the best', because I'm just so thrilled to have such a  strong group coming through, and it will be the unpredictable and dynamic unit they form that gets me jumping around.

I think if Brayshaw gets a few solid games in and a pre season he will be the boy. A Daniel Kerr cross with Sam Mitchell.

Put down your glasses, this race has already been run and won.

The chances of anyone even getting close to Oliver is remote. The kid is a dead set freak without any perceivable flaws.

The others can aspire to being merely great.

I don't know about that. I've heard a few keen-eyed football folks say he don't kick it much.

I think it is more just people looking at the stat sheet than any particularly knowledgeable assessment. They never seem to actually highlight when Clayton has obviously missed the opportunity to kick. Certainly his coach doesn’t perceive it as being a problem.

He has brilliant hands, awareness and decision making. He is a great height for a midfielder, is strong and has good speed, particularly the all important first few steps. He is very good above his head and incredible below his knees. He has good endurance which will get better still. He is super combative and won’t take a backward step. He is a ball magnet and we know, that when he does kick, he kicks bloody well - both long and short. He has no perceivable flaws. And not that it counts towards this argument but he seems to deeply love playing for our club.

I just can’t see any of the others getting close.

Oliver is the most special player I remember in the red and blue. Not many like him in the AFL.

Hogan is a close second.

Trac and Gus and Viney will/are great, but they are not necessarily unique in what they bring. There are a few in the league who can match them, or are better than them. I don't think anyone in the AFL has better hands or vision in close than Oliver, and he is only in his 3rd season.

Not sure why people think this way.

Oliver is the best handballer in the comp by some margin, and finds so many of his possessions in tight, and yet still manages to get the ball to a team mate in a position to clear the ball.

Not sure it would be possible to find a teammate as often, if he is kicking from inside a pack.

Except today, where in the middle of seriously heavy traffic he somehow notices that Hogan has a yard of space 50 metres away in the goal-square and plonks it on his head out of the pack off a step. Dead-set freak that Clarry kid.

All I can say is “watch this spot” when they publish the first list of the League’s fifty most valuable players! Expect it to be riddled with Dees for the first time since its introduction! ?

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
