ANB out for Salem is the easiest decision in the world.

One of either Harmes or Tyson for Viney.

Tyson went alright today, his kicking was better and he hit the scoreboard, would make little sense to drop him after a performance like that. Give Vince a rest maybe as we’re playing in subtropical conditions next week and give Jones a spell off HBF. Young midfield is starting to gel with Oliver and Brayshaw, Petracca will be better for the run, Viney for Vince would be my only change. Maybe Salem too for ANB but again I thought ANB was better than previous weeks and no point rushing back injured players.

I guess you have not been following them for long.  After sitting through dross (I go each week!)for a decade I am happy with a 39 point win every day of the week.  Not ideal to give up a couple of goals but focus on some positives just for a second FFS

I share your pain but missing the eight by percentage last year was infuriating. We should have learnt from that & bury rabble like St Kilda. That's all.

0 goals combined from Melksham, Hanna and Fritsch and we still kicked a decent sized score.

Fritsch showed a lot today, he can impact a game without hitting the scoreboard and he can cover  a lot of ground - 18 touches and 7 marks.  Kid is good.

To win relatively easily with still a lot of room for improvement should be very pleasing for us Dees fans. Some however always have  to have their weekly spank regardless. It’s great to be one-eyed but going blind is a completely different prospect.

I’d say get a grip but some of you already have.

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon at the Footy.

Nice to know that feeling of smugness that Hawthorn supporters have had for so long.

Now for the Suns !!

He is their great white hope.  A tweener who is possibly the worst shot at goal in the comp.

We have at least a dozen better young guns.

At least we won every single quarter for once

Do you not remember a few games vs the lions a few years ago? Reckon both teams went at 30% efficiency.

Didn't see a certain game we lost by 186?

Oliver I love but he does over do the handballing at times.

In the third quarter he was streaming into goal and handpasses at about 65-70 out.... the handpass puts the receiver under pressure ... Oliver plays a blinder to recover the ball and handballs again... the receiver fluffs the kick and Saints take the ball away.

Oliver had two very good chances to kick the ball to the 20 metre mark where there were marking players available together with crumbers....

His goal in the last quarter came after he tried to handball but couldn't give it off.

Great problem to have but he needs to balance the kick to handball ratio if he is going to be the star that all of us believe he is capable of becoming.

Yet we would have have taken him if we didn’t do the Tyson trade instead of Kelly.

We would have also taken McCartin if they took Petracca.

Just a brain fade BA..... I think it was footy karma. I believe Hogan is now our best player. With Tmac and sw improving its a powerful fwd line. Things  are a lot better than 2 weeks ago.

Fair call, I hope that’s all it was and it’s discussed when they review the game. TMac makes all the difference doesn’t he, as I said in my earlier post for our next two games I’d like to see the Weed start out of the square and see if we can start hitting him up on the lead. We know he can take a pack mark and he is a reasonable shot on goal. Will also be interesting to see when the coaching panel decide to rest either Fritsch or Spargo. Although Jeffy has been down would love to see him at the feet of the Weed if the above scenario was to play out.

If this was a normal game, with a normal break etc. then I would 100& agree, Forest.  We do need to have that killer instinct and put sides away.

However, after 3 games in 12 days, I think we can focus on the positive and how well we played as a unit and put a side we should be beating away.  When we needed to we put 2 goals on the board in the last to kill the contest and it allowed us to rest a few of our better players and do what we had to do.

Wise the Tigs really ran out of gas..

Really good 3 qtrs, Saints really gave it a go and went in hard after we can’t out so strong. We dropped the ball in the last when we could have made up more %.

The Tigers are reigning premiers for a reason.  The Bombers got done easy and the Pies literally fell over the line.  We won the last term and we didn't drop the ball.  The Saints still out there and had a dip.  The last quarter is the least of our worries.

Yes we didn’t smoke them like most wanted but we still take a 7 goal win with lots of positives.

I was happy today seing some good signs from a few guys who have battled this year at times.

Harmes was good with his pace and kicking, Tyson played his best game of the year, Lewis had 25 odd without noticing at a high efficiency, Lever continues to grow each game. Vince also put his body on the line a few times defending well.

Brayshaw was great and although they were a bit junk timey, I was still happy to see the Weid slot a couple and clunk one or two. He has to keep playing as it continues to release Tom and Hoges up the ground who are killing it.

ANB however is still struggling big time at the moment. Hasn’t showed anything much this year so I’m thinking he needs a spell for Salem to return.

Thankyou. Its not hard to understand this.

Some folk take umbrage that any dare to suggest the obvious.

I dont care about excuses. Today was far less about 3 games in any number of days... it's still about mindsets.

Some don't get this.

Wadda you obviously observed that I've had a break from Demonland in order to give the maid her bonus.

When I see you posting this sort of stuff it validates my own points on the matter.  Cheers.

Actually we would’ve taken Brayshaw and Lever. Fact.

There wasn’t an article on the AFL site this morning which confirmed that he has the worst conversion.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
