Wayne Carey: Dees Not a United Team

When this story first appeared many said it was a flash in the pan.

At present it remains the biggest story of the 2018 season and it isn't going anywhere until we win 5 or 6 straight or some other fiasco comes along

Because there is nothing else to talk about.

Carey is pretty tight with J Hogan, I hope he hasn't got mail from him, it's quite possible it's true we are not united.

Anyway,  I was getting tired of all the tyre pumping going round the media,  a little more negative commentary just might unite them ironically.

Carey doesn’t go quite as hard as the headline suggests, but there’s some validity in what he says.

He’s essentially saying what most of us are saying, and that is until we start winning, people are going to be bring up the camp.

Do we need a thread for every opinion?

No we don't.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the media and social media, it will continue to happen. Any mug can put anything out there, and there will be a reaction. A bit like this site and indeed this thread.

Everyone has an opinion or thinks they are entitled to express it, even though the person may be ignorant, lacks knowledge or is plain wrong. That's virtually the entire footy media mob.

As for Wayne Carey, please......

Agree. Let the media call us wimps and see if we answer as a united team on the ground.

meh. I'm sorry but I make no apologies.

Dees not united, is that right Wayne?

Wait, are you the guy that slept with his best mate's missus and had to quit his club?

That sounds like a call to arms.

Thank you, Wayne.

Only way it could be better is if we were about to play his old team.

Get ready to shove it up 'em!!!

GO DEMONS!

Perfect prep for Round One.

Great mind games.

But the Roos were united, in their anger at Wayne.

When this season starts and continues week by week to its ultimate end - where the Demons are in the top one quarter of the premiership ladder - prior to the finals, of course, we will have to count all of the media's naysayers who got it so terribly wrong at this pre-season time of the year.

Carey, his mate, Robbo, and many others will be singing from a different song sheet by that time and still expecting the general public to recognise their 'insight' and 'sophisticated declarations' ... and their inherent right to sit on the bandwagon as far as the Demons are concerned.

It is thought that these actions of his were representative of his poor and vainly limited understanding of the meaning of 'united'.

Last time I commented on the author I got an abusive behavior warning .

More 'journalism' clickbait

"Look at me! Look at me!"

There's more to it than just clickbait. Carey's statement is not even clickbait as it's in a 15 minute video where only a tiny portion is about the Dees game. I find his total lack of analysis of the game and his tip boiling down to an article he read in the paper about an event that he probably doesn't have all the facts about to be the problem here.

Is that something you know, or are you speculating?

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
