He trained with Casey a year or two back but didn't show enough to be kept on.ย  Possibly a late bloomer.

I'm hoping Fritsch gets a look in for the All Australian team this year. Rarely the medium / third sized forward takes a spot, it's usually taken by a goal kicking mid.

Looking at the stats he's equal 6th for the most goals kicked, all of whom before him are tall forwards.

Surely McKay and Hawkins will get one and two, Cameron (ranked 8th) will be the small.

One can dare to dream. :)

13 of his goals against NM and Adel. I donโ€™t think he has done enough. He had about 6 games where he wasย a liability.

Iย donโ€™t know if itโ€™s a sad indictment on either me or demonland that I actually canโ€™t tell whether this is satire.

Literally, yes.

My main point is that he has beaten up on a couple of lowly teams in two games for ~30% of his goals.

This argument is fraught - love my downhill skiers, they put teams to the sword - but just donโ€™t think he has had an AA year.

ย You can't always only use goals as a judgement.

Two Or one goal vs Nick Haynes is a good result if he keeps him quiet!!!ย For example.ย

Yes, but we are not talking about defensive forward jobs - we are talking about Fritsch as an AllAustralian.

And Bayley certainly isnโ€™t going to make it as a defensive forwardโ€ฆ

Oppositionย clubs seem share the same opinionย of himย as you do. Perhaps thatโ€™s why he is so effective.

Hmmmโ€ฆ.

The last bloke he came on here spelling his name backwards left us with a plethora of, shall we say, โ€˜unorthodoxโ€™ commentary.

We shall be watching your output closely, nucnad.

Based on your favourite players I guess its fair to say there is a fair amount of love for Casey Drunkn? Either way if you look at his stats he really doesn't get the ball that much, can kick a goal though it seems - saying he will be a superstar at AFL level is a fair stretch I think.ย

Very true, I do have a soft spot for the Casey boys, and I have watched a lot of VFL footy over the last 3 years.

But so far my track record is pretty good.ย

I said Bull would be playing AFL in his first season, I'd written off Hulett as going nowhere before anyone else, I said Neal-Bullen will become a good player after most had given up on him after his first season. Numerous times, most of my posts and predictions have been correct.

I've spoken to coaches, players, staff, scouts, Media and basically anyone who knows anything about football. Watching Fritsch, after only 1 pre season and still with a huge amount of body and footy development in him, play the way he did this season, and easily out mark experienced AFL level players, I can pretty confidentially say this kid will be a star.

But I might be wrong, and maybe I don't know as much as I think I do, only time will tell but I honestly believe this bloke has got what it takes.

Not to be an arrogant bastard but I have to say I told youse so ๐Ÿ˜

This years Flag is ours to lose boys, letโ€™s get it done.

How are you judging Bailey after last night Rpfc? Ageist a top 4 team. ย Has 50 plus goals now!!!:

I described him as a โ€œbad [censored] assassinโ€ in the post match. He was in 4th gear whenever he was near the footy and he was not only helping ANB, Kozi, and Spargo with the pressure he was the 4th member in the quarter of death that will bring us our flag (whenever that may be).

My criticism of him was that when he doesnโ€™t do that defensive work, his offensive has to compensate and he has to be elite of he is a liability.

I doubt the message to him from the FD is much different tbh.

Bailey Fritsch. 51 goals. ย Great year. Kicked some good bags v Kangas 6 and Crows 7.ย
ย

Yes he can be frustrating. His effort sometimes looks lazy amongst others like ANB and Spargo hunting the tackle. ย But his tackling is not poor and he can add a lot to our forward pressure. He needs toย

His kicking for goal prior to this year was at times strangely poor given heโ€™s a beautiful kick and practices more than anyone in the warm ups.ย
ย

51.21 is good conversion and is now really one of most reliable kicks for goal probably only behind Melksham. Fritsch has kicked accurately whenย others have been lacking accuracy. His two goals at the start of the last quarter were so important. ย Fritsch is anotherย key player in the run to our chance at a premiership. ย

He has played as a forward for all of the last 2 years and played as a Half-Back, Wing where as the last 2 years he played in the forward pocket and his goals output has increase whenever Ben Brown played which means he has developed the synergy required to be the 3rd/4th tall on the forward line.

He is averaging 2ย tackles per game which also helps with the small forwards pressure.

He has played 83 games so far has missed only 4ย senior games in 4 seasons of football and is learning more about how Ben Brown plays with each match so maybe they might carry us to the Ultimate Glory this season?

His season was as Predicted on his potential we nigh he has more than doubled with greater accuracy stronger body work and tackling and overall marking strength goingย up a couple of notches.

Lets not underestimate the BBB Tmac Dogga and Maxy influence which makes it soย much easier for Bailey to go freely at the ball forย his marks and leads.ย

If Bailey kicks 3/4 in the next 2 games he is very unlucky not to be AA. ย

2 of those 4 games was 1 when he was dropped for the 2018 prelim in Perth when he had played all year and 1 last season when he missed the bus for training and was dropped.

ย

Taken his game to a new level.

He is much more accurate than last year.

His forward pressure has been outstanding.

His crumbing is mouth watering.

He seems faster too. He's fearless with his high flying and most of his snaps go through.

And has generally been flying under the medias attention all year. I have no idea why.

In the final....All the focus was on charlie cameron who has scored about the same ammount of goals as Fritta and bbb who has much less.

Had a bit of a slump a while back but has come into great form at the right time.

Would love to see him one on one in the goal square more often.

If Tmac gets back to his old form than our fwd line is as good as it gets.

ย

Edited by leave it to deever

Such a tough matchup - if the opposition puts their best defender on him, it gives Brown / TMac and co the ability to get off the chain.ย  Most of the time there isn't an obvious matchup to suit his triple threat ability!

Out of interest, if our forward line played against our backline, which defender would we send to him?

Maybe Smith / Hibbo?ย  Interestingly, I feel that even though we have a solid backline (arguably the best in the league), I think our forwardline could cause us headaches - I think its better than most people give it credit for.ย  I guess much of that comes down to inaccuracy.

Here's my rough go at it:

Brownย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  ย  ย > May

TMacย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย >ย  Lever

Jackson / Gawnย >ย  Petty

Fritschย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  >ย  ย Smith

Pickettย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย >ย  ย  Rivers

ANBย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย >ย  ย Salem

Spargoย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  >ย  ย Bowey

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
