Melbourne.

Of course. We have a Head Start

We need to use it in a very clever way

what's so magnanimous of collingwood re qb?

they still have to have 11 away games per season

having this one on their home ground suits them rather than going interstate, plus they get revenue from the mcg western stand on away games plus they get the prestige of playing a fta televised blockbuster on qb

i can't see any disadvantage to them

A clever way would be to build a blockbuster game with Sydney and really work on the Melbourne-Sydney rivalry (ie, the city to city rivalry). Work toward giving it the status of NRL's "State of Origin" - a concept Sydney people truly understand so that even non-MFC and non-Sydney FC supporters care about how their city goes in this particular game. Some of those non-affiliated supporters may even end up joining Melbourne (or Sydney). But more importantly it re-states Melbourne FC's pre-eminence as the truly premium, eponymous, Melbourne-based club.

And once that's bedded down, do the same (but a bit smaller) with the other two capital cities which also happen to be the names of AFL clubs.

That's the attitude the club needs to take.

We should never accept that we will always be a small club. The last 50 years need not be a blueprint for our future.

Melbourne will soon have a higher population than Sydney, and we will soon be the only club with the name "Melbourne" who plays in the AFL

I hope PJ has a long term strategy in place that is ready to make the most of these Golden opportunities

Would love to see it get traction. Could play for the Roos Cup ;)

After Liz it's most likely a lad. Therefore it'll be the KB weekend.

KB?

I'm aware that Kevin Bartlett was once crowned King of Moomba but surely not this?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
