Paint over his mural with a mural of him getting served at the tribunal.

It sounds like the players are a bit peed off with him and I think goody as well. The Instagram post about JJ I think was just passed off as ok show some respect but it didnt backfire on him but the punch on mills was the last straw.

Interesting that he has been sent away. Im guessing he isn't sunning himself somewhere. Also when the time is up he may not even get back in the side. Him being away may make him realise how stupid he was to do that and how important footy is to him.

Noticed he's been pretty quiet on the social media as well.

Okay.  Forget the (media) hysteria.  I just watched a segment on that show The Footy Show (F*k I've actually worked as a camera operator on the show, sadly.  But it paid a bill).
However, where does it stop in aligning what Buggy did (in one incident) to this great cause to stamp out the punch?  yet use Buggy as an example?  Of course no one wants to have the 'punch' as a part of the modern / developing game.  But give it a rest by using peeps and draining every ounce of blood out of those who made a mistake (just to wheel a barrow). POQ

So... what if anything (other than train hard) does Buggy need or should do in his six weeks to respond?

I suggest...

a) Get a crew cut! (clean up the mop top).  I know it sounds corny.  But a short hair cut invokes an image of seriousness at the same time sincere drive (Goody and the military). Blah
b) Spend some dedicated hours (aside from training protocols) with the coaches.  On all lines.  Plus in the coaches box match day.  And so he can take up greater understandings of the game.  And what real team (fighting for each other) really means - to another level.  Which is not to say Buggy is not remorseful for his actions or incapable of understanding the meaning of consequence(s).

Any ideas?  Or am I deluded by wine and this cold weather?

We need Tom Bugg's toughness at the player with the ball (or near the ball). But no punching! His next punch will be his last as an AFL player.

I'm sick of the physically week team we produced prior to the Roos tenure ie/ the bruise free stuff. We need a couple of great taggers that do a job but also can play with skill when it's their turn.

Buggie should spend the time practicing his deficient skills (like set shots at goal).

Plus he's a great Gembrook lad.

Agree 100%

Other than goal kicking and general fitness conditioning work, he should learn Judo or something similar, such that he can exert a good, agressive physical presence and dominance in a way that isn't going to get him suspended.

Goal kicking technique and routine should be top of his list, how much more valuable would he have been to the team over the past few months if he had of kicked staight.

Goal kicking practice and he should train like he's going to be playing every single weekend.

It's been interesting (but not surprising) to see the drop off support for him on D-Land. I will say I'm not his biggest fan, and I will also say I was angry with his punch which is copping it's fair whack, but he played some important roles in big wins this year and he has also shown he has the ability to not only find the scoreboard (not always the goals though), but irritate he opposition into stupid acts.

He gets a few things right I think he could be a valuable player for us going forward. That said I think with his suspension and that he will have to earn his spot back through Casey, it's difficult to imagine him pulling on a Melbourne guernsey again this year.

He should take Spanish lessons. I would find it really annoying if I was his opponent and he chirping away in broken Spanish in my ear.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
