The Typical answer i fully expected. I would prefer the 2 NT games to be at The MCG so i could attend.

A quick question for anyone who's been at a Darwin night game this time of year? Is it actually particularly humid? It is the dry season, after all.

Cheers, As Demonland's self-appointed Northern Territory correspondent and a Darwin resident, plus an attendee at every Melbourne Footy Club game pre-season competition, Women's AFL and regular season here ... ! No, the humidity levels during the mid - dry season are no where near those in the wet season when most local aussie rules is actually played. Although the variation between comfortable cool conditions and more tepid evening temperatures depends on the height of the ski season down south . Down hill skiers only!

Darwin airport readings for yesterday:

7pm: game time Temp 25 (feels like 27) Relative Humidity 70

10pm: end of game Temp 22 (feels like 24.5) Relative humidity 83

Melbourne readings for yesterday:

7pm: 13 (feel like 10) Relative hum: 60

10pm: 10 (feels like 8) Relative humidity : 83

(Same humidity you say .... nah relative humidity is measured by reference to what amount of water air can hold at  a particular temperature..... so at a temp of 25 the air has a hell of a lot more water to achieve a humidity factor of 83 than at a temp of 10 degrees).

As an example when our Melbourne temps are 25 in January our relative humidity reading is typically 40-50

Hopefully some of our whiz bang scientists can drop in:

Problem is they wouldn't be. At least one and most likely both would be scheduled at Docklands. We'd also then have at least one and most likely two more interstate trips. So it's swings and roundabouts for me. Only issue I have is no bye after the Darwin game. Frankly it's downright idiotic that this isn't the case. I can't fathom why it wouldn't be.

It is another world compared to the Southern States.

Yep, that's unpleasantly humid.

However. As original post references Darwin I can see where I derailed.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

The Demons head back to Melbourne after an embarrassing loss to the Dockers to take on the Magpies at the MCG on Kings Birthday. With a calf injury to Lachie Hunter and Jacob van Rooyen possibly returning from injury who comes in and who goes out?
