He'll be picked up by someone in the rookie draft this year.

Built like Robbie.

People who are there, is there a lot of wind? Spencer, Smith and Weid all missed from the same spot and all went to the left.

No wind at all

Just like Decs poor miss I think they're all just overthinking it atm

I love Plapp. He'll be a great AFL coach one day.

Thanks Drunkn - not a good sign at all! You wont see the tackle stats there but they are 36-18 their way. As a positive at least we are getting a good chunk on the ball.

QT STATS Disposals Wagner 8, Trengove 7, Munro 7, Scott 6 Goals Fritsch 2, Maynard 1, Lewis-Smith 1

Didnt realise Trenners had so many. Stretch would have been sling tackled into the ground 6 or 7 times.

maynard is giving away a heap of frees

Not as many as Kirby! Is that 4 or 5 Kirby has given away now.

Maynard 3 or 4 - Maynard's frees have been a lot of non-footballer free kicks. High, tackling incorrectly, etc.

Poor Weiderman. The football gods just hate him at the moment. For those who are interested, 80% of the time he is competing, but none of it is coming off. He's had a couple of chances at goal. I think he is either 0.3 or 0.2. The set shot he should have kicked, he's had two snaps in the pack, one hit the post and the other was touched/rushed. He's taken 1-2 marks but they were on a lead. Hasnt taken a contested grab but crashed 6-7 packs so far.

that's the way it's looked to me too. he's doing all the little things you want to see a developing tall do, but he's just missing that final 'clutch' moment.

It will all come together

I like that the Weid is adding ruck time to his skill set. He'll come good in next couple of years as a serious asset if he can also ruck pt as well.

About 5-6 years ago, second year blues was a serious thing that was discussed before the '3rd year breakout'. I dont know where that has gone, but Weid looks like he is massively in those blues. The main thing is he is doing the right things and works hard. As a developing tall that is all you can ask. I think that Hullett looks shot of confidence as well. Hopefully later in the year when we get our injury list down we will start to play better and they'll get more of the ball and feel a bit better.

Tackles 56 - 45 now. Really pulled that back. Not big numbers by any of our boys.

HT STATS Kennedy-Harris 14, Kennedy 13, Wagner 13, Trengove 12 Goals Fritsch 3, Kent 1, Lewis-Smith 1, Maynard 1, Stretch 1, Smith 1

11 that quarter from JKH

Hes dome some good things - Lewis-Smith's goal at the end of the first was a direct result of a terrific groundball/hard ball get from Weideman.  A second quarter goal came after a neat pickup and pinpoint left foot pass that set play up.   He has a touch of class for a big man just needs the core aspects of his play to come together.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
