I will wait until the VFL to provide my full ins and outs, but Oscar McDonald has been poor in the last two weeks and needs to go back to the VFL. Depending on the availability of Hogan and Spencer, Keilty would have to come into consideration if he has a good game in the VFL this week.

And as good as Tom McDonald was in the game against Adelaide, he doesn't have the tricks to play as a permanent forward.

Salem is an automatic in.

We only need two tall defenders against Collingwood (Frost and T. McDonald) as it is their smaller forwards that are most dangerous, therefore Salem should come in for O. McDonald and Wagner stays in.

IN Dunn and Howe....oh wait!

Out i would suggest Oscar McDonald and then i hit a wall. Tom M I'd move back for Oscar and play Hogan, Pedo and Watts as 3 tall forwards with Pedo as relief ruck.

One of Grundy's strengths is around the ground marking. This is where we will need to nullify him if we can and not let him do as he likes with intercept marks.

He is an automatic because he is in the best 22.

Keilty doesn't come in.  He is very very average. 

Oscar turned a couple over but his spoiling and attack on the ball was very good

Yeah exactly. How many of our players, with ball in hand open about 70 out do you find yourself rising off your seat to get a closer look at the whole forward line? Salem, Lewis, Viney for decision making, Watts for decision making and execution, Oliver, and Petracca from 100 out has an uncanny knack of finding Jeffy inside fifty.

So many of our other players though, you look through the gap between your fingers....

I haven't been on Demonland all that much lately so I'm not sure if it's been discussed already, but if Hogan is still out then why do we not try Oscar forward instead of Tom? He reads the play pretty well, he is tall and he can take a mark and he is a pretty good kick. He plays without confidence in the back line, putting him in the position to kick a goal or 2 in a game might be good for his confidence. He seems so worried he will make a mistake that he inevitably makes the mistake. Put him forward where a dropped mark might be a goal for us instead of a goal for them. And if he does mark it I'd rather him take a set shot than Tom.

For what it's worth, if not for his prior indiscretions he wouldn't be in these discussions based on his current form. He really hasn't been much of a problem, if at all. People just repeat his name most weeks because it is easy

You'll cop it from the sooks... but I don't see why that isn't tried with every player. Especially in our current predicament. It's all about adding strings to your bow.

The sooks as youll have them are simply lamenting the play. Observers are entitled to that. Has been my experience that invariably once the issues dissipate the commentary changes.

Im sure players are trialled and observed at training and possibly the magoos when they're challenged, playing different roles.

I suspect Oscar isn't played up the sharp end for a reason.

You sure you know the sooks I'm talking about? I'm not sure you do. There's people who hate on Oscar. That's not a sook. I'm talking about the ones who get on and want to shoot down any supporter of his. There's only a few.

And yes. I reckon you're right. With TMac, he wouldn't survive 22 games a year as a forward. Because of his bulk, speed, contested ball work in the air and ground he can be a sort of Casboult type... only without the marking.

OMac is a coachable smart kid. But the assets he has aren't going to give him much separation on his opponents. I have the idea that he could be of some use due to his height out of the square. But as a link up man, nope.

I can't see O Mac taking a contested mark against the oppo gorilla backs. He's also too slow to (i) lead and (ii) to break out of a pack. He might be s good kick but I can't see him getting too many.

Pedo on the other hand is a natural forward. Not sure why it took 6 weeks to get him there - same as trying to get Frost into the backline last year (took far too long).

Wouldn't be surprised to see Trac pull out of this one. Oliver mentioned on MMM that his knee is very sore. 

Not topic but I don't get on here much. Haven't read anything from Saty when I am on, has he left us?

Totally agree on the first one. I get that Weed has a big ten year future we need to get him 50 games into. But there's a time and place. Pedo has done very little wrong in the last two years. Can't agree on Frost though. He was pretty bad last year at times. He's one of our most improved this year.

Yeah. Take a close look at Crows game at the end. Was in a bad way.

He had bone bruising a month ago which is usually a few games out.   I said in this weeks Post Game thread that had we not had so many injured talls and forwards out he would have been rested. 

At the time of the bone bruising I expected him to not play for a week or two as it was the reconstructed knee and it wasn't worth the risk but that we may not have too much choice.

He wasn't a patch of his normal self on Saturday so really hope the 2.2 weeks off is enough.  The last thing we need is to get Hogan back but lose Trac.

It confirms the club is hopeful Jesse is available for the QB game but predictably " ...Hogan's comeback will be dictated by how well the wound heals and how is feeling. ... Demons are keen to ensure the power forward has the appropriate level of conditioning after an interrupted start to the season that saw him play just four matches..."

He will have played 4 occasional games in 12 weeks, had surgery and had a tough time.  I guess the club won't know about his conditioning till after a few training sessions.  So its a case of watch this space... 

Of course, like eveyone else on here...can't wait till the #1 runs in red and blue again!
