I know nothing about them, but the track record of this account is?

Verbally committed means absolutely nothing in the context of a legal transfer.

Anyway, I'd dump Watts, Frost, and a second round pick for Lever and a first rounder.

Anyone hear Scully saying Kelly should stay at GWS because money isn't everything? Oh the irony of that pathetic little lying turd!

Was the same guy (or gal). However does have some runs on the board, but then again so would I if I made 100 predictions a season.

He is an insider, same as McClure, Barrett etc. so who knows what's going on but it does feel like Lever is gone and all the mail is he is heading to us bar Waldron. Plus with McGovern signing as predicted it just passes the sniff test

No doubt that we'll be knee deep in it and here is hoping he is keen.

He has NO runs on the board. He's NEVER gotten one right. The moment you have a slight disagreement with him, he blocks you or turns to personal insults.

$850k a year is the rumour...

With the new pay deal it's about the same as $650k last year I reckon. Still borderline overs but he's definitely A Grade and you have to pay overs to lure guys like that

I just wonder if our awesome core young players will keep the band together ala hawthorn long term, rejecting huge pay offers.

I really, really hope so.

His "exclusive" on Jesse hogan last year was proof he has no idea.

Not only is he better, he's significantly younger. Lever will play next year as a 22 year old. Prestia was 24 this year, Henderson 27. So he should be good for 50 more games than Prestia, and 100 more than Henderson. Plus we're gonna hopefully have a pick around 12 or 14 - hardly a priced top 5 or 10 pick. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see how you can offer a 22 yo $800k a year and not cough up a 1st and 2nd rounder.

Whatever happened to ol 72-page -Prestia? Didnt hear much about him. Must have had a big off season celebrating his payday.

Good young defender, I would be looking to trade Bradshaw to get this deal done.

We obviously think his soft tissue history is okay. Big dollars. I'm excited. Seems like it's happening.

Then we can turn our attention to continuing to fix our midfield - this was shown up again V Collingwood. We still lack at least 2 B+/A graders. Oliver, Viney, Tyson, Petracca, Brayshaw, Salem, Jones and Lewis is not enough. We need that pace and class everyone talks about and another bull. Collingwood's midfield should not be beating us, particularly when Gawn is winning the majority of taps to advantage.

Lol good call and a decent player too make that Brayshaw.

Wouldnt trade Brayshaw. Has the natural ability to become a fantastic player if he can stop getting knocked out.

I like your first idea though as we wouldnt miss Bradshaw at all.

Another thing I love about Lever is that he has all the tools to be a superstar key forward.

With Hogan there and Weid coming through, that may never eventuate though at least not permanently.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
