Training - Friday 3rd March, 2017

Featured Replies

There's an open training session advertised on the club site to take place at Casey Fields today at 10.00am.

This is the first of the autumn training sessions and with some light morning drizzle and a maximum temperature of 27 predicted, we should expect close to a full squad (possible exception being Bernard Tomic).

If any of the locals is going, reports are welcome and let us know if you hear anything about a possible Casey Demons practice match at the weekend.

No pressure!  But, us interstaters are impatiently awaiting all of those in-depth reports that we all know are about to hit Demonland at any moment...

I refuse to go back to Casey until they install eftpos facilities and while I'm at it, hire a decent barista and serve edible tucker. It's a long way to the shop for a sausage roll in those parts.

Simply not good enough, Dieter!  Keep up that attitude, and you will be out of the team alongside Wattsy!

Kindly smarten up, stick a few dollars in your moth-infested wallet, pack a thermos, and get back out there!  The team needs you!!

Really missing the training reports as it would be interesting to hear from the regulars on how Watts is going on the track.

IMO Watts is critical if we want to play finals this year.

That's the end for him, you only get a few chances to show what u got,  unless the FD thinks you are worthy to persist with,  like Jagger.

He has certainly had a looooooong career and they have persisted with him however his signals when kicking out from the goal square are somewhat confusing. Crowd seems to enjoy them though.

needs a big preseason and to add 10kg of muscle before he can move into the midfield.

way too light a frame for the modern game.

Not much of a training report (especially if you're JKH)

JKH to miss six to eight weeks

That is sad news

I like the kid I was really hoping he'd have a good year.

Disappointed for the kid, has not had a good run at it and facing an uphill battle again .

Not great but a fractured forearm is not the worst injury. He can still maintain fitness and even play with a cast as many others have done.

Timing is pretty awful for the guy. I wish him the best as he was looking a lot better in this year's pre-season than he has in past years.

Does anyone know what is wrong with Sam Frost. I was impressed with his development last year and am surprised he wasn't playing in the preseason games.

Can't help but wonder whether Goody picked his starting 22 (or the 24 or 27 from which the starting 22) for R1 a long time ago, and it's those that he wants to see in JLT.

No Frost, no Jetta, no Garland, no Trengove. And, more than likely, no Watts.

That's assuming injury isn't a factor, of course.

If Watts doesn't play round one , there should be a Royal Commision IMV! Particularly if Neal Bullen gets a gig!

I think you've mistaken having sympathy for the Demons with Sympathy for the Devil.

Given he has played both JLT games to date, ANB will likely stay in the side now that JKH's out, AvB's apparent injury, and Kent's fitness being in question for Round 1.

To be honest, I'm not unhappy that ANB will be given the opportunity.  I rate him, not sure why, but just think there's something there.

And PF, there will still be room for Watts, presuming he gets a gig this weekend.

There will be no Watts. He will be too busy giving testimony before the Royal Commission.
