The 'Channel 7 will advise argument' is not a very good one I'm afraid.

If I was someone who didn't have FOXTEL and I had no idea that the footy was on on Monday night (as it's still a relatively new fixture), an advisement that happens very occasionally during an hour or two long show that I don't want to watch, is not going to let me know whether the game is on.

There is absolutely no doubt that we will lose eyeballs on this game, unless you're saying that the advisement will be running along the bottom of the screen for the entire show, which is fanciful.

If you don't know its on...its moot

Ch7 advertise in advance days prior

Another straw argument. The station often notes what on its sister channels.

Cant believe anyone thinks this is hard.

My 83 year old Aunt's got this covered. In fact shes watching the footy and recording MKR !!

Regardless of why

The secondary channels rate about 30% less than the primaries.

It may be stupid and make no sense but it is a fact

That's because the primaries put all their crap shows on to the secondary channels

I understand.

But much of this angst is based upon the notion the Footy would rate discernably higher on 7 rather than Mate.

Upon this supposition all things seem based.

If 7 thought it to be a motza with this game on 7 i can promise you it would follow its wallet and do so.

It doesn't. The numbers wont be a lot different on Mate. Those that want to watch on telly are already aware. Either on Fox or FTA viewers will watch. Those watching the 'reality rubbish' will line Seven's coffers. There would be very few caught by this 'hard' choice to skew the numbers.

Footy on telly aint the golden cow it once was.

regardless of what you think they will be.

Many people (theatre goers) associate AFL with Ch7 and when it is not on there they will do something else.

Dumb logic. Yes but a fact none the less

FTA is all crap. The bigger the rating show the crappier it gets.  Arguable that better stuff is shown in their secondary channels. If it wasn't for footy I would never tune in.

What i don't get is if this is the answer to avoid a tv clash, and the history of not playing on good Friday was mainly due the chanel 7 children's hospital appeal, why haven't they just played it and televise on 7mate. It boggles me - especially given the appeal is a victorian thing only. Theres a hell of a lot of Australia that ain't in Victoria (although growing up and living in Melbs until i was 25 never quite got that the Childrens hospital appeal is only in Vic... not until you get out that you realise no one else in the country is actually aware of it at all!!)

And if I'm not watching Channel 7 in the lead up to the game? I find it mindboggling that you're having difficulty with this, mate. We will lose eyeballs on this game.

It's a bit like the WWE. The fighting has spilled out of the ring and the combatants are now going at each other with chairs in other threads.

If only some of our team had the same tenacity and perseverance on game day. Some here could go 4 quarters all day long with minimal provocation.

My dream announcement is when Peter Jackson states that AHG has significantly increased its sponsorship commitment in return for exclusive rights to the whole jumper and that AHG asked for the back to remain clear of any sponsorship because it "just looks so damn good."

I did say it was a dream.

Yeah I though we would be past the days of struggling for sponsors.

I share this sentiment no BoJ sponsor is a major issue which I thought we'd moved on from. Record membership yet we still can't get it done.

It would be nice for an update from the club about this with nearly a third of the season gone.

Write the year off for BoJ if not done in the next 3 weeks.

I would be inclined to agree.

I have a gut feeling ( no evidence ) that its not for want of suitors...just the $

I trust the club ( these days ) to sort it out to our best advantage.

In mean time..quite like the 'cleanliness"
