alot of people thought Frawley was a spud in his first few years, the all of a sudden he was our saviour, key defenders take time

I thought that with the exception of a couple of shockers that OMac was pretty good today.

Was there a player in either team who didn't have a shocker at some point?

That's a pretty fair comment Chris. Oscar annoys the hell out of me but a little perspective goes a long way.

Just block him.  Unless someone quotes him I don't have to read his constant drivel.  Makes a thread so much easier to read.

Has time on his side, but for a young player at this point in time there's more to dislike than like at this stage.

A non-negotiable for our team over the last couple of years has been competitiveness. And with that comes aggression and intensity.

O-Mac in my eyes resembles Watts (early-days) in the way he plays. I don't see a huge amount of urgency in his game and that's one thing that I really dislike at the moment.

We have nobody else to play presently so clearly he'll keep playing.

But I cannot see a backline of Frost, O-Mac and T-Mac all in the same side if we're going to see further progress with this group.

Those three share far too many weaknesses.

If I read between the lines Picket Fence, you don't rate Oscar McDonald. Am I right?

He has played 10 games of football.  He had some really good moments today but I agree with the fact he makes some mistakes.  In saying that every player does, just some seemed to be singled out more than others

Honestly how can you compare the Era of Bailey opposed to the current Era? It's just bizarre. Should we not play any players until they are 22 and have 70 vfl games? Would that please you?

How is that bizarre? It's exactly what they did in the Bailey era.

You probably need to read his 300 posts on the topic to really get teh feel for what he is thinking. But I wouldn't bother because most of his rantings are ego driven drivel.

Not suited to the weather, should not have played, got a huge hip corky and couldn't run the second half out..

Massive upside if he can continue to work on his strength and speed, plus clean up his kicking and decision making by hand under pressure.

Er, isn't that what he said he does?

Hardly the right conditions this week to judge a young KPD player picket. I suspect even if he improved dramatically over the next 18 mths you'd never acknowledge it.

But you wouldn't expect much else from a tall skinny fellow in his second year on an AFL list, who was drafted 53 in his year.

Yes he has work to do, as do most new blokes- look at Harmes as an example, he has taken time to learn good habits and still needs to improve.. Talls will always take longer to develop and build confidence.

I agree..i dont expect much more...  Its also why under normal conditions he wouldnt be out there in the first place.. We have f all depth in the backline.. Is our priority for the summer...sort it out.

It most certainly is Moonie.  One of my rare, smart decisions, and it's paid dividends on this site.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
