Well we've ticked over the 39k mark.

39,005 according to melbournefc.com.au

Within 141 of last year's record final total.

Do they still have the "Dob in a Demon" thing - I want to dob in my uncle who gave up his membership a couple of years back but still comes to games regularly on my wife's or sons ticket

Our other thread put us at 39,211 which we are still to reach but likely to pass by the weekend! (Nice to see our figures ahead of St. Kilda)

Here's the HS list just last december.  They confirm the AFL figure.

I think George's figure is likely wrong and that we've now passed last year's record.

Correct CBD.  Here is the club 'Thank You' saying 39,211  http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2016-08-03/thankyou-members

It's a shame that we as MFC supporters have to worry about membership numbers, sponsors and gate receipts, wouldn't it be nice to only have to worry about wins and where we will finish on the ladder at the end of the season.

Yes Dante there is more than enough to worry about with the team.

I dont worry about any of it.

Life's better ;)

We have set a NEW RECORD (I think).  Club website is saying 36,269.

Suspect a typo and they mean 39,269!!

That is 3+ months before the 39,211 record set last year at end of July.

So its a 7% increase on this time last year and 17% increase on same time 2015.

@Dee Deewould you like to show the new milestone in the thread title, perhaps?

correct luci

It's a new all-time membership record! ? A BIG thank you to our 39,269 members who have signed up this year!

Just checked membership numbers just now and we appear to have lost 3000 members today !!! What the ?

Amazing way they announce it! Firstly they announce an increase of two additional members over two days (39,148 > 39,150) then they announce 3,000 resignations (down to 36,269)! You would think they could run to a proof-reader before they post! ?

from the mfc site right now.  seems they have fixed their little mis-kick from the backline

39269

They've got some serious issues down there at the website. Very amateurish

Yeah, this week is not going well, is it? An error a day just about. Even the MFC Goals from Round 4 were out of sync.

Glad to see the website is not making much of the membership record. Just a thank y'all tweet and on with the sales campaign. That's the way to handle it. Forty thou would be worth a bit more of a celebration though.

Currently at 39344. Three loses have cooled the ardor somewhat.

Beat Ess we'll get 40000

Lose...dead in tracks.

No reason why we can't clock over 40,000 before the weekend. Surely at least some of the 85,000 who attended Monday night will have signed up on the day (and their figures have not filtered through yet)!  Expect a boost at the end of today when they are added to the total.

Picking up 600+ this week might be a bridge too far!

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
