Shallow little man. You really don't care what the entire EFC was injected with do you....

Yes I do but I want every single fact in this sorry saga to be in the Public Domain, at the moment it isn't so we get page after page of uninformed opinion

After training at Goschs yesterday all the players were being give something out of an unmarked Esky, I wondered what they were, JKH was reluctant to show me    must have thought I wanted a bit   fruit flavoured icy poles

Nah I reckon the other article where the MP wants a Senate enquiry into the AFL, the government at the time and ASADA            yes please

I read it very much as an attack/investigation on ASADA. Good luck with that one. The AFL on the other hand, bunch of incompetent fools.

As long as there is a record of what it was, and they have cleared it with ASADA then we don't need to know what it was Saty.

Funny story -

The Sydney Swans have been fined $20,000 for failing to properly update the central database of what injections and treatments two players received,

...on one occasion,

...although they did have detailed internal records which were readily available for cross-checking.

So, let's see... Essendon... some 40 players, about twice a week, for at least 6 months, with no internal or central records kept.

2080 incidents x $10,000 an incident = $20.8m fines, minimum, if my quick maths is right.

And that's just the central record-keeping side, not the failure to keep internal records at all.

And of course, the record-keeping problem at Sydney was entirely involving common and explicitly WADA-approved injections.

Y'know what, I really hate the Essendon Football Club. For everything they stand for, but most of all the 'we're so hard-done-by' whinging and the strutting around like they've successfully come through a period of being victimised.

Absolutely nailed it Goffy and some people think they were hard done by.

Listen to Stephen J Peake late night on SEN if you can stomach the bogan...

the funny thing is Essendon leaked this audio and will leak more - but it only hurts them (and the AFL) and drags this thing out more.

they STILL somehow wont acknowledge they endangered the lives of 34 players.

I hope they win the wooden spoon. pack of [censored] wankers

Another sad chapter in this sad story. And one that show just how compromised the Herald Sun is in all of this. As Gil said there is absolutely nothing new here and nothing even remotely newsworthy.

Faced with nearly an entire list being suspended the inner sanctum, after thinking they might escape this scenario because of a commitment they thought they had from Gil are furious. That seems to be the gist of it. Of course they are furious.  Next they'l run a story with the headline Man stubs toe and says OW

Even more ridiculous is that a peanut MP thinks this somehow justifies an enquiry. Please.

I haven't bothered with the articles but is there any detail on who recorded the meeting, if those present knew it was being recorded and who gave the recording to the Hun?

No EFC didn't leak the audio, they have nothing to gain from it now...it was one of the 4 involved.

Have a guess but I know who my money wouldn't be on and that leaves 2.

Agree and you would have to assume there is fair chance it was Hird who both recorded and leaked it. If it was him it really beggars belief. It might well be a manifestation of him being unwell - an leaving aside the hypocrisy of him leaking given his trenchant criticism of the AFL for doing so - but if was him it can only be a bad thing to have more media about this story.

But more concerning would be the decision of the Hun to run with it and make it front page news no less with probably dozen related articles (regardless of who leaked it). They ran  big stories about his mental health when he was hospitalized and gave air time to people who slammed the media and the AFL for bullying him and causing him to become unwell. And now they put this out there when it can only harm his mental health? Irresponsible.

Interesting ..... if that recording was done in NSW it would have been illegal but in Victoria if one of the persons present made the recording it is legal irrespective of whether the others in the room knew about it.

Frankly it is an amazing development.... not in what it reveals but as proof that there are many with different agendas who will not let the matter rest.

I still think Danks wants to tell all but perhaps he would like to be paid for his version.

Maybe we could start a crowd funding to get Danks' story!

Essendon didn't leak it

It was from the "Justice for the 34 Group"

who gave it to them would have been one of the originators,

Caroline has her say:  http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/afl-20170224-gukxno.html

These two paragraphs sum it up rather nicely:

"The varying degrees of delusion in that bunker occupied by Paul Little, James Hird, Mark Thompson and Danny Corcoran can be summed up by concluding that all were in desperate positions but none – at least in the recording – showed contrition for the damage they had caused and were continuing to create".

"Those who allowed this to happen should be so ashamed of themselves that any personal grievances remain red herrings to what they put their players through. And the side issue in the form of a push for a parliamentary inquiry smacks of an attempt to rewrite the key facts of the club's dreadful recent history."

She makes very strong links of Bomber to the recording.

A blistering well  written article... well worth the read.... another snippet:

"Those who were at Windy Hill at the time recall the chain of command and attitude of those running football was so inappropriate to that of a professional organisation that if the injecting and dangerous drugs regime hadn't happened some other scandal would have eventually brought them down. "

Interesting...I would have thought him the least likely.

My bet would be...someone a bit sneakier.

But but but this will only make him look a martyr and the innocent party, surely that is what the public will think. If I put more mumbles and drunken slurs I can really heard Robbo saying that.

I'm sure they will.

The leaker thinks the Hun is their friend. They are wrong. The Hun will do this to sell papers. If it helps the EFC cause somehow, well and good, but selling is first and foremost.

This is an abjectly pathetic attempt to throw mud at primarily the AFL, followed by ASADA, followed by WADA, CAS, the ALP, the coalition, ANZUS, the EU, ASEAN, APEC, G20, and the world in general.

Whoever is doing it is sadly misguided in their belief that this is gaining them something. It will go nowhere and simply drag the sorry affair out for longer and prolong the misery.

For schadenfreude aficionados, it's all good, but overall it's pretty sad.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
