There's no fairy tales on Grand Final day unfortunately.

Brisbane in 2001, Port Adelaide in 2004, Sydney in 2005, Hawthorn in 2008, Geelong in 2009, Geelong in 2011, Sydney in 2012 and even Hawthorn in the last few years haven't always gone in favourites.

They might not be "fairy tales" but certainly the the outsiders going in.

The head tells me I am crazy, but genuinely think the Dogs will win this by about 20 points. If they are within 3 goals at quarter time they will win it. Am also tipping some Buddy inaccuracy will burn the swans and Johanison (sp?) to get Coleman

Clarry Oliver dead last in his GF sprint heat

Reckon for most blokes it's more about the GF ticket than the actual sprint. You'd think he'd be happier finding his seat as the other blokes get ready to run again.

Winner: Dogs by 17points

First Goal: Liam Picken

Norm Smith: Easton Wood

Surely Jayden Hunt should have been in the sprint.

Believe he is overseas on holiday, I thought it would be Harmes, he is still in Melb, maybe Clarrie volunteered

I think he would get a free ticket anyway Stuie.

But you would know more I'm guessing.

Tippet and Buddy should have worn sequined mini-skirts like the prostitutes they are.

And this is why you need a gun KPF. Bulldogs won't be able to keep bombing it in to contests. They don't have good enough KPFs.

Haha, how often do the Dogs throw it? The answer is regularly.

I've counted at least 10.

Also getting their weekly [censored] polish from the umps. Frees 9-3 their way already.

How was Libba's throw on the 50. No disguising that. 'Quick hands' says the ump.

If you can do it and get away with it, do it. Any advantage outside of AOD, do it. ;)

Tight and hard with no free space, and no time for elite skills. Buddy being managed really well by Bulldogs defence, and midfield battle even. If the Dogbies can stop bombing it in long, and work it into their forward 50, they have a better chance. Morris from Bulldogs and Grundy from Swans both outstanding in the first quarter.

Boyd still looks like a log, but it's in games like this that can turn careers. Just look at Tom Hawkins.

Good call, Adam. Good call. He bobs up and kicks the next one.

Anyone got a link for overseas please!!

I'm just listening on AFL live radio (on the AFL live app)...couldn't get a video stream working (7Plus).

All the way back in our game against them early in the season, I observed that the Bulldogs’ biggest strength was their amazing handpassing. That’s what’s proving the difference so far today.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
