The OX slams 'crap' Demons.

The sounds coming out of the club this week suggest it was an intense review, as it should have been.

I don't ascribe to the theory that external pressure has no influence. I believe it does, and broader recognition of what is and isn't acceptable contributes towards getting to where we want to get to as a club. Part of that is saying last Sunday was well below expectation.

The acceptance of Melbourne as a perennial failure and disappointment has gone on for too long. I'm thankful we have a voice or two in the media who still care enough to set a higher expectation.

A couple of ill-considered remarks about development doesn't take away from what I interpeted as the main message: not good enough. It's a simple message but also an important one. Never moreso than right now when we are just starting to regain some respect.

Yep, fair enough, mate.

Hope Ox gives us the biggest rap of all time tomorrow!

The boys deserve it after the bake (warranted or not) that he gave them a few weeks ago.

What? You are actually expecting him to say he was wrong?

No, I don't.  And I was not saying he should.  No need to read something negative into people's posts.

Am saying that he should give the warranted praise and recognition. Ox is a passionate Dee who wears his heart on his sleeve.  He goes OTT sometimes but he is also fair.

I wasn't being negative. as a footy player I respect the Ox, as a footy 'commentator' I think he is a headline chaser, he goes OTT all the time in my opinion, like most of the others

Yes he was, there hasn't been a miraculous change, the development was there all the time, it is just the inconsistency we need to fix

We have been down this path before, as a footy player I have the greatest respect for the Ox and how he played, he pisses me off as a 'commentator', like a lot of the others

Entirely irrelevant.

He was shooting off his mouth at the time and was completely wrong. His career v Saty's is absolutely irrelevant.

I'm not sure why anyone really cares what he says. He obviously gets quoted on what he says in the heat of the moment. On reflection he probably regrets what he says, who knows? He's definitely a passionate demon who wears his heart on his sleeve & for me there is nothing wrong with that. He loves the club & wants it to be successful, I'd much rather someone like the Ox in the media having a voice than a pompous [censored] like Jeff Kennett at Hawthorn.

All right have you got 10 or 20 years of experience as a CEO of a medium sized business, if not then does that mean you can't comment on Schwab?

The Ox chases headlines....my opinion

My point is that The Ox is a one club champ of the MFC who has a right to say what he said.

On the day the players deseved it

The effort was not there

He played, he now works in the media and answers to the ratings of his radio station, could you now answer mine.

I served in the Defence Force but my opinion for or against bombing innocent civilians carries the same amount of weight as the Ox

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
