We gave him a 2 million contract 4 years ago.

Should we resign him? Have we? Will we?

I hope we can trade him for someone but not sure if he is worth that much.

The guy competes and tackles I have no doubt about it but cannot hold marks and rarely kicks goals. Keep as emergency perhaps? Even Dunn would be a better 3rd forward than Dawes.

The biggest problem with Dawes is not that he under performs relative to his salary, but that he is not held accountable for his poor performances. We know he is one of Roos' favourites, so he will never be dropped under any circumstances (see also Lumumba).

We should send him to Casey until he possesses the minimum skill set for his position. If he can't do that he can find a new job at the end of this year. But it will never happen because he is a protected species.

Dawes posts are the new Watts posts...

Tempered with proviso that nearly everyone saw Watts as a potential gun .

Keep backing Dawes Stuie but the supporters are over him and wish him well in the legal profession.

He achieved the ultimate in football and nobody can remove that from him but he is too slow, can't mark and fairly useless at ground level as well as the ruck.

I'll be surprised if he goes around next season.

Watts was young & always had time on his side to produce his best footballer. Dawes should be coming into his prime. 1 goal in 4 games this year... 2 marks in perfect conditions yesterday. The bloke is an absolute dud. If his not dropped this week selection is a joke, further to that he should be delisted at seasons end because no'one will want him. Pedersen is everything Dawes isn't & with Hulett & Weideman waiting in the wings, there is no use for a concrete handed statue on our list

So you think hes the new whipping boy?

Watts was a lot younger and the number one draft pick where Dawes is 28 and was solid forward for a premiership side.

Don't see the similarities myself.

What was the point then... criticism of Watts has now turned to Dawes ? Well if that's the case I didn't miss the point because criticism of Watts was fairly unfair due to his age & experience. Dawes on the other hand warrants the criticism for his terrible performances with his experience, age & salary....

Noooooo I think you've made every second one of your posts since yesterday and now a whole thread about Dawes because it's worth talking about so much....

He isn't worth it. Y pay 500k a year for a defensive forward who can't mark & doesn't kick goals. Do u keep him because he's a good role model etc.. For me he's a trade/delist.He's keeping Weed & Hullet out & both would give us more.

Orrrrrr you could say it once and see how people respond, rather than post 174 times about it and then start a whole new thread for it as well...

You've got a really good eye for football talent Stuie as your Dawes love shows.

There is no disgrace in admitting you are completely wrong and have terrible judgement.

Hey, if you didn't post them everywhere maybe I could find a way to not have to read them. Have you emailed Roosy yet? Maybe you should sook to him about Dawes?

Too much irony in 1 post...

I have been a Chris Dawes fan all along. Great bloke. But i think the end is near if he can't sort out his marking problems.

We should have won yesterday. The experienced players didn't pull thruogh...again.

How many people have you kicked off your precious little facebook page for disagreeing with you on the Dawes arguement Stuie?

Il take a shot and say 738373683837..

Amazing that 1 person could continue to  bat for a spud like Dawes who plays the witches hat role quite well.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
