Pates If he gets half way to that amazing outlook I would be a happy Demon. Having said that I do think he will be one of 3 future champs for us provided we can seal the deal with Hulk post 2017. However,  being a wounded warrior over many decades I tend to take the "seeing Is believing" route nowadays

Rusty normally I'd share your outlook and of course we have be careful not to place any undue pressure on him, but despite what he said in the article he does have swagger and confidence, and when you combine that with his natural abilities I honestly feel he will get to that game breaker level. I think some of the pumping of his tyres at this stage are a bit premature, with articles and the way commentators gush over him, but just as people are sick of BT and "The Package" I think other teams fans will get sick of hearing the commentators go nuts over him.

I'm expecting that he will be on the LTI list any time soon so I refused to get attached to him.

I hope he will become the champion supporters are claiming he will be.

If J viney and Gus hit their best then we have a very promising midfield.

I think we'll need a lot more than Viney and Gus hitting their best. As good as Viney has shown this year, and may continue to show. I don't think he has a higher ceiling for improvement as other potential a-graders in the AFL because I feel he has only one gear at the moment, and that's full throttle. Which is fine, we definitely need an aggressive barometer as an inside mid and a spirited player, but we also need footy smarts, composure (Knowing when to not rush in) and a high amount of skill with the possession. I might be wrong but I can't see him being an elite of the competition like Petracca might be, and will Petracca be in the midfield or up forward?  Oliver is the wild card

Why would you expect that?

I suspect Biff probably has a few more years behind him Petracc (with associated battle wounds)

We've all been hurt so many times, us mentally and then the poor buggers out on the field. I think he's preparing for the worst so he doesn't get hurt again!

Ingrained negativity.

With any luck he may have had his year off already.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
