POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 12

Demonland

Recommended Posts

Talking Footy's post match discussion entailed a 30 second discussion of "how good is Max Gawn?" and a 7 minute discussion of "how bad are Collingwood?". Watson declaring that the loss marks them being at their lowest point this season.

One day, Melbourne will get total credit for a win and the opponent won't be deemed at crisis point. One day.

Now Now Steve I think you are getting a little excited my man.

I think a few "well done boys " each match is quite sufficient.

Just an all round [censored]-hot day, old dee.

Watching the replay now and I'll tell you what has really improved. Tyson's tackling is phenomenal. He is becoming a terrific player. Really looking forward to seeing him up in Sydney next too.

When you're the editor of the Herald scum, you'll see that "dee-spair of Collingwood, essendrugand ninthmond" will far outsell printed copies of "dee-molition at the g" or "doing the M-C--DEED"

Let them cry, let them argue about how pathetic they are. Let the media focus on GWS, or danger, or whoever it will be this week that's flagfavorite.we can just continue along, more experience on the big stage with more games into Wagner, petracca, gawn, Viney etc. We will bring the 6 minute important segment to them, in time.

I was on a flight early this morning my time when the game was on. I arrived in Cairo and when I got into the hotel I sat down and watched the reply without knowing the result.

Had an enjoyable couple of hours watching and cheering the boys on.

Was a very good performance with a good even input from just about all members of the team. a few outstanding players with Gawn, Vince, Tyson and Jones just great. I love watching Gawn play like this. Snapping goals, romping through the center and clunking marks and the best part is that he looks like he is enjoying it.

OMac, TMac and Frost looked the best I have seen them. They were helped a fair bit by the Pies selectors.

Petracca did a few things today that really had my eyes widening with wonder. He is going to have a huge impact on this club.

Another win would not surprise next week.

Anyone got footage of Kennedy being coathangered by #40 (which was called "play on" by umpire Nicholls)? I spent the whole first quarter watching through red mist after that. I want to see if it was as bad as it looked.

Was bloody awesome mate. Waved my flag and sung the song three times, and stayed until the boys went in. Probably won't do any of those things ever again, but felt the need for finally breaking the duck!

We look to have settled our key backs for the next eight to ten years hopefully with the two McDonalds and Frost.

It would help if we signed Big Mc soon then.

Not sure if it's been specifically mentioned, but how good was Petracca's goal in the second term?  The pick up, spin, push off and then goal was sublime.  His sure hands at both ground level and in the air, as well as his explosiveness and ability to quickly change direction in a pack make him such an exciting prospect.  Really looking forward to his second half of the year.

And just quietly, I'm confident we can push the Swans all the way this Sunday as well.  With a few players going down and their confidence taking a hit they are ripe for the picking.  Could it be our turning point heading into the bye?

Who got injured for the Swans?

It was bad!  Its rare for Roos to be really animated but he all but flew from his seat when it was called 'play on' with no free kick.

Haven't seen a replay...we probably won't - it might upset Nathan or Eddie:o.

It gives me the shits. Sounds like a library almost every week. I feel like I'm the only one out there shouting every week.

Don't know what games you guys are at. The members go nuts. I've heard opposition fans say "there's not many of them but they're loud".

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
