This is a topsy turvy season and, with a number of teams, you don't have any idea as to what's coming out at the start of the day.

I go back a few weeks ago when I saw the quarter time score in the Collingwood v Geelong game and I thought WTF.

On Saturday night Geelong made a meal out of North Melbourne.

Carlton beat both Collingwood and Geelong.

Confused?

At the start of the season I said it would be the most even in a very long time, check this out.

Where's pre game hydration happen?

At work in Beijing. Might be a good time to introduce Chinese students to the beauty of Australian Rules football. Could be an opportunity for cultural learning as well as some intensive study of the Australian vernacular. Mmmm, maybe not.

Got the same dilemma. Was supposed to be finished classes by quarter time but someone is sick so have to cover!

I've been out for a bike ride. It's seriously windy!! The filth would be going in way too top heavy if they line up as selected. I wouldn't be surprised to see a late change. (Small for ta

Confident? Of course not ... Essendon!!

I've got a seat organised on Level 2 so I'm set.

Go dees!!!

No late changes for either side.

It's a big day for.. Vandenberg. He is our X-factor with his size and clean hands.

Hopefully the game in the wind against the Roos will be of some help today .

I'm in the outer today.

I'm hoping the scum can take losing like gentlemen.

I will be wearing tweed (with the elbow patches).

I hope today we play a coach killer.

(Not ours)

Tweed In the outer! Risky business Ethan risky business!

Seems like there might be a few of us over here. It would be really good to catch up to watch a game or two together. Paddy O'Shea's in Dongzhimen is pretty good at finding the coverage. If you're interested let me know and we can get together maybe next weekend for the Swans game on Sunday. It would mean an 11am start but they have some good food to soak up the beers.

All this confidence is making me nervous.

I really hope Nasher gets to see a win.

Yeah but you feel nervous every week!

Great weather for the walk to the G and enjoying watching various D grade douchebags diving into icy water.

Now to win!

Can also confirm J Viney is playing. Glove on. Freak!

Jack's hand looks ok - carrying his gear with his left (injured)!

His presence will draw one of their players to 'mind'  him - frees up our other midfielders .

Go Dees!     View image on Twitter

Jack is primed for big game! Relishes the challenge and knows to hate the old foe in his DNA...

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
