Frosty had an excellent bit of play on the HB Flank. Sold a bit of candy and drilled a pass to a teammate on the wing. Other than that haven't noticed him too much

Our centre clearance team has at times has been Salem, VDB, Trenners and ruck Spence or King.  They won the clearances convincingly that qtr.

I thought Scorps would struggle this week with the loss of both ANB and Newton, but the ins of VDB and Salo seem to have more than made up for it so far. One of ANBs strengths this year has been his 4 qtr endurance. Guess we are yet to see if the replacements are up to his standard on that score.

Grimes had also been in a lot of the clearance work, incl at throw ins. He continues to have really good form when on the ball. Doesn't excite with cleanness or polish, but there is not question he is often effective. His experience really seems to be showing through, and he looks to be really determined. He is definitely not cruising.

Half time, and time for the catering report.

Egg and bacon roll once again did not disappoint, despite the fact I was waiting all day for it.

Wrote up the 'match of the round' one year for a couple of leagues bjDee. It was only two games in that I started to review the egg and bacon rolls, almost to the expense of the matches themselves. You can tell a lot about a club by the standard of it's egg and bacon rolls. Glad to hear Casey's are up there.

That was the pass to Dawes leading to a goal. He dropped a sitter switch pass across the backline. Then quickly recovered, ran around opponent, took off and put a good 10m clearance on his opponent in a hurry before a nice kick to Dawes' marking advantage.

Joel Smith #79 did a couple of things that quarter that were very impressive.  He is very quick. One to keep an eye on.

Agree. He has suddenly blossomed this game.

Box Hill have had the hood over Casey for a number of years too. This would be a huge win if they can get up.

I beg your pardon?

Salem went down on far side of ground.  Might have been a leg injury?  Walked off unaided with trainers, not limping. Has been taken into rooms with Physio.

Thanks KC and all the other posters out at Casey really enjoying the commentary - Go Scorps!!

Lucky goal to BH. Intercepted a hand pass from Scorps player and snapped a goal.

Yhen a clearance, mark a goal to BH as a follow up.

Now 20 mins in and it's 67 to 62.

End to end goal for BH.

The backs in this game press right up to the half fwd line, hence Terlo'o opportunity to mark and score. But it hurts on the rebound.

The Hawks came back at the end with the last four goals to trail by 1 point at three quarter time.

Casey Scorpions 10.9.69 to Box Hill Hawks 10.8.68

Goals T Smith 3 Dawes 2 Glen Hulett Max King Spencer Terlich

Disposals Grimes 24 White 23 Salem 19 Trengove 18 Pattison 16

We have a game on our hands.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
