I understand the betting odds don't represent statistical odds but there's still a personal logic behind where people put their money. If it's just Saints fans distorting the figures then fair enough because they do seem from the outside to be fairly misguided re. the state of their list. Dees by four and half goals. Go Dees!

We're going to need all hands on deck for our round 1 match against GWS (it's so imperative that we win that round 1 clash and then knock off Essendon)

So, I hope our new players, fringe players and those out to prove themselves show a bit but most importantly, no injuries please.

I did some some maths. If we improve 10% on our best offensive and defensive NAB results in our fixture v. St. Kilda we will finish top of the Nab-ladder. I left school at 14 though: math may be inaccurate.

This'll be our first game that I can get to a pub and watch it.

Would appreciate a good win, partly so nobody blames me if we lose!

Plus, I honestly need to learn some faces properly - too many games just on radio/online last season for me. So, would be very helpful if all the new guys did at least one spectacular amazing thing to help me remember them.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

    Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill.     Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     DRUBBING by Meggs

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
