You seriously need to reassess your criteria as to what makes an AFL footballer. Like Saty, you seem to have too much of an emotional attachment to the players' personality rather than focus on their abilities and performances.

Played well tonight and showed that might actually flourish at the Hawks. Took a fantastic contested mark and was quite competitive.

Hope he does well at Hawthorn. I was one that wasn't happy we got rid of but hope he really does well at the hawks.

I thought he played pretty crap, he couldn't find space and pulled out his signature banana kick for goal and missed instead of kicking a drop punt. He won't be holding his spot for long in a 3 time premiership side with those types of tricks I can tell tou right now. That may have worked for him in our team but Once Ruff is back he won't get a game.

Frost is a better player than Fitzpatrick.  Max King is a better talent than Fitzpatrick.  Oscar McDonald has better skills for a defender.

Frost has played 3 games for us, Max King has barely got past the Casey reserves, and Oscar has played 2 games for us, and yet you've seen enough

to make these calls? It's like everyone saying we had a new Paul Chapman when Tapscott debuted.

I'm not sure why Fitz tried to banana that shot for goal last night, the commentators even said it was audacious against the breeze, as he's not too bad a kick for goal, and a career average of better than a goal a game, even while splitting time between defence and ruck, says he could kick a goal.

Having said that he was one of the biggest teases of unfulfilled talent we've had, amongst a deluge of them.

But yeah, there will always be those on here who decry ordinary footballers being given their marching orders.

We spent years not turning the lsit over and when we do there will be unhappy supporters.

Like Hightower, Addam Maric, Cheney, Gysberts, Morton, Blease, Chris Johnson, McLean, and others I've missed, I don't believe Fitzpatrick will come back to haunt us.  BUT even if it did, it wouldn't worry me.  I'd rather one mistake than a warehouse of list cloggers.

Amazing how quick people jump on the club after a single game.

I thought he was pretty ordinary. Made a couple of reasonable tackles, but he didn't have to work hard to get to them. Couldn't find space, beaten in the ruck and missed his kicks.

Bruce was someone who should've finished his career as a one club player with the Dees.

Not sure what the circumstances were as to why he went to the Hawks, but that he did really knocked the shine off what otherwise would've been a fairly stellar MFC career.

We were a stinky cesspool of a club - lots of things during those times didn't quite go as they should have.
