This would have been a perfect time to send the scum packing and get a Tasmanian team to join the comp.

Just shows that the AFL are not serious about going to Tassie.

Not because of Tassie but the board and then quite a few of the AFL management team should go.

IMO we need a new GM with no alliance to existing people.

Maybe Mike Fitzpatrick can be Essendon's "top-up" ruckman! I am sure that they would find a way to facilitate it.

If the EFC wins more games than the MFC in 2016 we should quit the AFL or rename our team i.e the toadstools because they are toxic. Highly unlikely to happen but…….

Added Stokes and Polkinghorne... now 6 to the cheats.

Will we get a top up ... Mitch Golby?  Matt Arnot?? running half back

I don't think we'll get one.  More than likely we'll get to promote an extra rookie, although then being able to add another to the list would be good.

VFL rejects do nothing for me.  Golby and Arnot don't have the potential to get a game.  Mitch White does.  I'd rather us go down that road.

Odd that Essendon end up with a full list and we don't.Not unexpected given the nature of the AFL but odd none the less.

It is odd, but I don't think one rookie, for one year only, will make a huge difference to our fortunes. It may be an advantage for Casey though.

I do feel we should be able to get another rookie.

Most likely they wont turn out to be a player but what if the next aaron davey is out there?

Trouble is you would have to draft him the next year before the other clubs.

I thought the Drug Lords only get 10 gifted players from their major sponsors, the AFL.

That would mean they are 2 short of a full list.

Nice to see the article in this morning's paper saying that Port are after Jamar as a "top-up" player to cover for Ryder and Montfries. Be excellent if it happened and Essendon had one of their ruck coaches poached!

Presumably we will be delisting players and promoting a rookie (or delisting a rookie) and the new rookie could stay on if good enough

CBDEES,Mike Fitzpatrick as EFC top up ruckman……AFL should give the go ahead. Taken in consideration his age the AFL should allow the centre square ( rename not so centre square) to be moved 50 metres closer to the EFC goals. Why not !!!!

I think the other clubs who have players suspended should have the right to nominate an additional rookie from the remainder of the draft pool. I would not be averse to us then picking Jake Lovett - he must not have been that far away anyway.

Seeing Stokes in the news, don't think there is much to worry about in then winning to many games. His cake in take was up during his retirement.

Based on his interview on the AFL site there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of passion there either.

Love the way the article refers to " lowly melbourne ".... Some people in the media seem to forget that we actually finished above both essendon and St kilda last year. Didn't think we could still be as low as essendon is now....

It annoys me too, but then we haven't exactly been anything but 'lowly Melbourne' for a long time.  Once we played good, consistent footy and we push for finals it will be hard to change that perception for some.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
