It's a regular theme amongst Demonlanders that players who are out injured are 50% better than when they were on the field.

From the small sample size we saw of Frost, he's an athlete who'll never be a key forward. He has potential to become a key back, but at this stage he's a poor man's T Mac. We won't win many games with a backline consisting of Frost, T. Mac, Dunn and Garland.

Aren't you being either very pessimistic, or contradictory, when you first note the "small sample size" then say we won't win many games with him in the backline?

Surely just too soon to say.

I suggest you re-read my post. With his athleticism, Frost "could" become a decent key backman. I just don't want him, T. Mac, Garland and Dunn in the same side because we'd lack creativity coming out of the backline, which I think has been a big issue for a long time.

I reckon that if Frost is good enough as a lockdown defender we should throw him to FB and Dunn to CHF/FF. We would then look something like this:

Jetta-Frost-Garland

Salem-Tmac-Melksham

Vince-Viney-Stretch

Kent-Hogan-Petracca

Garlett-Dunn-Kennedy

Gawn-Tyson-N.Jones

Int: Brayshaw, Watts, vandenBerg, Neal-Bullen

I think history might one day prove you to be wrong.

I would much rather having Dunn kicking the ball out of deep defence  let alone bringing the ball back into play from a behind.

Frost has got some real speed and is super strong but his skills are still questionable. I think he'll be introduced to the midfield next season, possibly playing off a wing with a run on the ball every now and then.

I think Frost is a CHB,

I spoke to him today at training and he said he had a scan this morning - everything fine. But he only trained for a short time.

Wasn't he supposed to be fit and firing by the end of the season, but the club decided to hold him back? I hope the scan was just precautionary.

He was supposed to be fit and firing by the beginning of June. Just another typical 4-6 week injury at the MFC

Frosty has had a hiccup again with his foot, so with Sam it’s just about his training loads and trying to get that right. We’ve seen when he’s on the park, he has explosive pace for a player of his size. He can play forward/ruck and we also think he can play down back. So it’s just a matter of getting the balance right – getting his training right and getting him fit for the season.” – Paul Roos

Come oooooon.

It may be just a minor detail but wasn't it a 'toe' complaint? A fracture or....?

Maybe his 'foot' is only a generalisation of the injury area.

I really want to see this guy out there. ... (sigh) 4-6...fmf :(

Hiccups seem to be contagious. Along with Frost and the hiccup with his foot

Chris Dawes; "Dawesy started training really well before he had a little bit of a hiccup with his calf"

Angus Brayshaw; "He had a slight hiccup with his hip just before christmas"

Someone needs to send their mum to training to show them the cure for hiccups before it goes through the whole team.

Not sure what this first-hand evidence is doing in an otherwise speculative thread.

Good to see Paul Roos stating that he will be looking to play him in the fwd/ruck role, his athletiscism and ability to compete makes him a perfect fit for this role at least until we can find a better option.

on the presumption he can get back on the park, that is...

As opposed to the default presumption that he will be forever injury-riddled and never take the field again.
