WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

Straight swap for Toumpas.

It's meh, but I'll probably take it.

Left footer and speed at least gives us something different.

Still torching it at VFL level just can't adapt to AFL yet (and maybe never).

which one you talking about lol

Think he can. Just needs an extended run.

His best season was his debut year where he got to play 12 games. He's been in & out of tbe side a lot the last two yearsand sub a lot, so would like to think at Melbourne he could get an extended run on a wing.

Nothing of this will matter ultimately. .swapping deckchairs in the sub 30 dept.

Kennedy goes alright, I'd be happy to see him in the red and blue. He can play, I always liked Kennedy, and I was hopeful we picked him up.

those kicks looked further than 35 mtrs

He reminds me of Nath Hrovat.

Im sure he is going to offer much more than toumpus, toumpus is a good kid but just might not work out.

Same height, different types though. Kennedy has more speed, Hrovat better in close, more composed with ball in hand. More Sam Mitchell in the way Hrovat plays, if Kennedy hits his potential, more a Boomer Harvey type.

If a young Melbourne player played a game like that he'd be considered an absolute star on here.

Better AFL game than i've ever seen toumpas play

still shaking head

with all the rubbish circulating you'll shake your sconce right off lol

This was a VFL game he played earlier in the year:

http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/video/2014-08-05/vfl-ben-kennedy

The stat line read: 38 disposals, 9 clearances, 7 inside 50's, 3 tackles (and a goal judging by the video).

In other news, Toumpas fails to get a sniff at VFL level.

Let's hope Toumpas' reputation in being a prior Pick 4 gets the deal over the line.

No doubting the depth of collingwood's midfield as well, its a difficult side to get into for a guy like him, they do have one of the best young midfields in the league. If a pick number 10 isn't getting a game on their list and moving, then i can see why kennedy would want to move on as well.

I'm all for it. It's a bit similar to the Melksham case in my opinion. We're not necessarily recruiting players that can slide straight into our best 22 but instead depth players with more upside than your everyday Rohan Bail.

Kennedy would be handy backup in case Kent were to go down again.

Nah. He had some very good sniffs, especially earlier in the year.

You make an excellent point. Having said that, i can see Kennedy slotting straight into a wing for us.

Howe to the filth for Kennedy & their 3rd round pick?

Also worth noting that Kennedy was recruited at the filth the last year Jason Taylor was there. So if we are looking at him, it's fair to say Taylor should know what he's capable of.
