I think I'll just open this thread tomorrow and trawl through it then.

I'll fill you in now:

There will be a few posters with 'inside info' who won't really go into detail. They won't actually know anything reliable either.

There will be others who will concoct ludicrous trade ideas and believe they we can land someone who is totally out of our reach. The fact Josh Kennedy is on the poll should tell you more than you need to know.

Then dazzle and olisik will have an argument that will fill about 1 and a half pages.

I hope I saved you some time!

You know I love you mate, but.... I wasn't wrong with what I said above either... ;)

The arguments are generally dazzle calling out olisik for being a t wat, so fair play I reckon.

Apparently it's a very dangerous fish caught a couple of k's west of Fairhaven Surf Lifesaving Club.

Having a troll today are you, mate?

Nah, I'm no troll. Just a bit of light hearted banter. Thought I'd throw a couple of lures.

Unless of course your comment was a pun too?

Anywhoo, back to the big fish. I hope it's not Danger. With Adelaide matching the offer, we'd have to give up Dazzle's left nut to get him in a trade.

Fair load to give up mate.

just thinking, if we are indeed in the hunt for a big fish like danger, to what extent are we hindered by the fact that we know for certain we are going to need about 99% of our future salary cap in order to keep Hogan from leaving? If this is indeed the case could one argue that we are over-compensating by putting way too many eggs in the Hogan basket? What if he does an injury or ends up being just not that great in the end? Just a thought

Not really.

Let me start by prefacing this as saying I don't see us as being a chance to get Dangerdive.

But....

If Adelaide match the Cats offer and there is no chance of a deal happening, Danger could wet his pants and decide not to risk ending up in the draft and at Carlscum so rather than take his chances, elects to go with some certainty, signs with us on a 5mill, 5 year deal that has 2 mill in the first year, 750,000 for the next four years. The first years front loading ensures the crows can't match it.

Not going to happen, but thought I would post it to give the dreamers some hope.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
