Watt's going on?

Featured Replies

As I said in my previous post, he's in his 2nd year of an executive coaching panel that have got a clue.

I'm not blinded to JW's limitations....that's your emotive summation.

Unlike some here, I've made my peace with JW and I see him in our best 22, with amazing skills, fitness and footy smarts.

jumbo, would you consider trading him as part of a deal for Dangerfield, or a Prestia ?

what of those that may have done similar but aren't convinced about the best 22 based upon consistency.

Best 22 on skills and ability

Game day over a season. ..well...

Possibly, but it would be difficult to part with him.

Yes indeed.

Let's wait and see, BB.

why? I wouldn't bat an eyelid

He will never play in September

Club are trying to trade him for a top 10 pick

Just your hunch or have you heard something? Would do cartwheels if that came to fruition

So this wonderful "finisher" finished 18th in the B&F.

Finally we've got a coaching group that recognises he's an unmitigated dud. Yes, his effort "improved", so we're thankful for small mercies.

He's not HUNGRY for success

Watch tonight's game. Watt's would last 3 minutes in that heat

It's not personal. It's a fact. Same with Grimes

Just not good enough like all of us.

To compare the intensity that Watts brings with that which Grimes brings is just stupid.

Each time I touch on the view it anyway with your posts, I regret it.

Grimes has his deficiencies, but to say he isn't hungry for success is just BS.

The only disappointment from tonight was that Jack, after having his supposed 'best' season, couldn't crack it for a top ten finish in the B&F.
Something has to give eventually. Jack isn't as bad an influence as Sylvia was but he is heading down the same career trajectory as Col: that of a wasted talent.

Much like Sylvia, his talent levelt is nowhere near as high as some people believe it is.

whatever.

Neither will play in September

We could put that statement to the test if Jack ever got out of third gear.

What it says is that the coaches are looking for something very different to the fans.

Not in my book. As a fan, I reckon the coaches are 100% correct this year with their voting.

You can speak for yourself, but not for all other fans.

Well, Jack finished top 10 in the DL POTY. Obviously we rated his games higher than the coaches did.

I didn't vote in that myself, but we as fans don't know what role/instructions players have been given on game day and fan voting vs coaches votes are often very different as a result.

For someone who finished 18th in the Bluey?

Would be a miracle.

tomato, bbq...or something credible ?

Just asking

Be surprised if they weren't casting for interest. Top 10 ?..might be dreaming me thinks. A late 1st round might be closer...and a damn good deal ( for us )

He played good footy for half the year

Therefore the other half wasn't that crash hot.

Stands to reason

He wasn't on his pat malone their beelz.

Source is a current player (mate) spoke with him at B&F.

Grimes on trade table, Howe 100% gone, Garland likely to go.

Club talking to Melksham / Redden

Watts played good footy for half year………mmm in a better side he wouldn't get a game along with others. With Watts your'e either a half glass full or a half glass empty person. In his so-called good half of the season, how many votes did he get per match according to the likes of the Herald-Sun ? It would be in Watts and the MFC if they parted ways. We should offer the GC Watts and Howe for Bennell,he should be O.K under Roos and Goodwin.

Did Jack Watts finish top 10 last year?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
