Casey Scorpions v Williamstown

KC from Casey

Recommended Posts

Highlights:

Another big game for the Casey Scorpions that have to arrest their current losing streak or face being unceremoniously dumped from the top eight.

Jack Fitzpatrick, Oscar McDonald and Casey's Ed Morris are back in the team while important key forward Tim Smith comes back through the development league team but skipper Evan Panozza is out.

Jake Lovett returns for another cameo as 23rd player.

Thanks Jack. This article should be music to our ears, and a far cry from what we were witnessing just 12 months ago. Importantly, I get the distinct impression that Plapp is true to his word, and what he has said is a statement of facts, and not something churned out because it's what supporters will want to hear.

At ¾ time, a bit of a late fightback by Williamstown but Casey well in control at 9.11.65 to 4.6.30 and coming home with the breeze.

Meanwhile, the illness to Christian Salem means another player will be withdrawn from the Casey seniors making their task even tougher today with Aidan Riley the likely resting replacement player.

A great 58 point win to the boys - that should shore up their position in the finals.

Free kick and goal to Williamstown late in the quarter.

Casey 4.5.29 to 3.1.19 and that's the quarter time score.

Goals Fitzpatrick 3 Page

Great quarter from Fitzy and Jimmy Toumpas is fired up after a disappointing performance last week.

Possibly not enough of a lead at this stage of proceedings.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
