The current logo is a 100 times better than the cheap unfinished thing above.

The F in not complete. F stands for football (which is what the club ACTUALLY engages in...

We wrote the rules. We are the originators. If any club has the "luxury" of a simple and neat logo, it's us.

I meant that the interconnected NY is ubiquitous with the Yankees and that 'luxury' of people identifying so readily with that simple icon has been built over time.

The first club, the club that wrote the rules - not many know this - ironically the current emblem attempts to educate people of this. An interconnected MFC is certainly not going to.

The current emblem tries to achieve too much.

Good emblems have a known narrative behind them, eg, the Yankees, Carlton, Apple etc.

Less is more. Don't need to cram it all in one emblem. Such an approach lacks class. And confidence.

Just keep it simple. And stylish, which this does.

Edit - iPad typo

Agreed. The Schwab logo just tried to do too much. I like the look of it but cant see a kid being able to draw it let alone my self.

I quite like the old fashioned "MFC" on the logo and think its a cool representation of our strong history.

I think something like this could make a cool flag:

Now i could live with that Logo quite happily...although what is that extra bit of Red at the top. A curtain of presentation or a the ass of an evil Demon Temptress? Edited by Sir Why You Little

Without referring back to the thread from a few weeks back, what was it that got everyone interested in the Dees as a kid? The logo? No. A particular player - more commonly. Just put Jesse's mug on the guernseys and letter-head.

The mascots are a key part of selling the club to kids. The Demon is a great image, ferocious and feared I have no idea why we wouldn't use this.

Look at the current kids merchandise with the current emblem - what kid wants a schoolbag/tshirt etc with that on it over a Tiger or Magpie? Kids want merchandise with mascots on them, not shields.

I agree we should have two like the Cats, the interlocked MFC for corporate/official affairs and a Demon logo for kids merchandise.

I agree. The team is called the Demons because Checker Hughes used the term to describe how he wanted the players to play. Pretty core to the value of how the team plays out on the field. I would love to see a ferocious Demon, perhaps on the Away guernsey and used to promote the Club on other merchandise. I really liked the Bulldogs guernsey when they had an angry looking Bulldog on it. I liked the Schwab logo I like the new one although its very MCC. Whatever.

The Schwab logo is not a logo, it's more of an essay.....a poor essay.

I'll take anything over that thing.

I may not know much about art.....but i know what I like and deestroy all......this has all the elements of a wonderful logo. A clear 10. Only one suggestion....In the current logo the first rules faintly appear on the shield background. In your greatly improved version an excellent background for Jessie would be....the dragons den from harry potter.?....sacks of gold.......etc.

Do we even need the Melbourne Football Club bit? Think I'd prefer "Jesse Hogan's team".

Was going to go with that, but it goes without saying. Thought the subtle initials were enough to let everyone know it's Jesse Hogan's Melbourne Football Club.

I honestly don't see much wrong with our current one. Perhaps is a bit too busy with so much happening in every corner of it so simplifying it would be the way to go.

Prefer the original MFC logo. That new one with sharp edges lacks something.

What are you calling "the original MFC logo"? To help, have a look at the four at the top of this article written, believe it or not, by Ben Newton (I assume a different one) a couple of years ago. Did you mean any one of these or perhaps another one?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
