I have no idea why Geelong are favourites.

We pantsed them. North pantsed them. Selwood missing tomorrow. Bulldogs on a roll.

So Joe the goose couldn't miss last week and was kicking them from outside 50. But last night he couldn't get this through.http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/how-did-joe-daniher-miss-this-goal/story-fndv8gad-1227446412857

His celebrating goals like theres no tomorrow really annoys me for some reason.

Because at Essendon for many players there will be no tomorrow post-WADA.

Joe will have free reign of the forward line but no players to kick it to him, once WADA get the job done.

Geelong winning today puts them in the 8. How is that even possible? They're so average. I guess that's a sign that, after about 3 or 4 teams, the rest of the competition is even but mediocre.

We beat them, at home.

BUT then we lost to Saints and Dons.

[censored] we are frustrating.

Ablett 16 tackles!!!!! Almost a quarter left.

I think Viney has driven him completely mad....."That bloody Jack Viney! If it wasnt for him tackling me, i could have played all season!!"

Daniher now officially on the protected species list at Umpire HQ.

Disgusting, pathetic, soft, [censored] [censored] free kick. All of one pinky finger on his back and he gets a free kick right in front of goal.

Meanwhile, forwards run at the ball and get held, pushed, shoved and bent over right in front of goal and the umpires do nothing. They are murdering this game, not the coaches.

LOL

Brown's having BOTH arms held by two Bombers defenders while going for the ball and the umpires don't call a free kick. Pathetic, laughable, unbelievable frankly.

Heed Gil's words of wisdom in his press conference today. "We need Essendon back being strong and winning games."

Says it all, really.

Gil is an absolute disgrace as a CEO of a competition saying that one particular team needs to be winning.

So unprofessional if him.

Frankly should be a sacking offence.

15 goals 26 behinds in perfect conditions- unbelievable at Doglands.

I know everyone says it a lot, about umpiring... but that display against West Coast is the most obvious case of umpire favouritism to get a team over the line that I've ever seen. Obvious goal bafflingly called a poster by the goal umpire and corrected in the ensuing review, while a questionable "touched" call on the line isn't even reviewed (personally I think it was a goal). LeCras kicks the ball legitimately and it's a free against for "kicking above the knee". Replay shows a perfectly legal kick.

Final count was 24-8 free kicks in Collingwood's favour. Shouldn't be surprised but it's getting to a point where you genuinely wonder about the integrity of the game itself (as if we would be surprised though). Almost every 50/50 call went in the Pies favour and the umpires still picked out nothing frees to help them.

The only thing he's gotten right was how he handled the tragic passing of Phil Walsh.

Paying them more isn't going to reduce human error

They're still going to blink at the wrong time, have players move in their line of view, or misjudge the power behind a push or shove

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
