wouldn't be surprised if it's jkh. he hasn't got an inside game and it's going to be brutal with the wet conditions

Think it will be Vanders as sub

He hasn't played in over 4 weeks.. JKH played a full game for Casey a couple of weeks ago and dominated.

Vanders the perfect player to come on as sub in the wet and smash the [censored] out of them

Stoked to see VaDemon back in, really missed his aggression around the pill and he really frees up Jones, Vince & Tyson to spread. His body shape is how I wanted Mortons to look.... As his prescence.

As for JKH, he needs to show a bit for me. Understand him coming in as our depth is tested (rather him over Bail, Matty J & Newton) but I struggle to see what others see when pumping him up. He isn't super skilled or super quick and I think Neal-Bullen has showed more in a similar role so far. If we ever get super lucky with our injury list and players find form would he get a gig over forwards Jeffy, Howe, Petracca, Trengove, Neal-Bullen and Kent?

Goddard is to good a player to stink it up twice in a row. Also Zaharakis usually kills us so I'm not super confident like others but hold them, Bernie does a job on Heppell we should be ok

Agree with this...

Good changes, Toumpas could have got another crack but he was poor last week. I would've kept him as an emergency though, our emergencies are too tall for the weather conditions so hopefully we don't need more than one late change.

I would have Grimes in for Howe (Currently a complete waste of space ) and maybe Riley as emergency as Spencer is too tall for the likely conditions. I agree with Toump being left out has been poor recently as as he isn't a one grab player the conditions will not suit

Yup. Not only is Howe a crap player, he will be even worse in wet weather

That 1 extra change and the team would have been perfect

Apparently Hocking and Melscham have been withdrawn from the game.

On paper it looks good for us.

Just hope it does not lull us into thinking this will easy.

To me, the most interesting part of the team is the three emergencies: Jamar, Fitzpatrick and Bail. It suggests to me that Brayshaw is a certainty to play. Otherwise I would have expected two "smalls" to be selected as emergencies.

But this is where it gets interesting - why would Jamar and Fitzpatrick be named as emergencies when the forecast suggests that it won't be a day for big men? Is there any suggestion that any of the selected talls might not play?

I still think this game is a danger one. Lets not forget they beat us in march with half a VFL side playing while we were nearly full strength.

Lets just hope they are mentally spent and it takes its toll tomorrow.

When a club leader comes out and says "we've hit rock bottom" I think that's pretty damning for the team's mentality. Hard to be a new player and have a positive outlook when you see someone say that to the media. It's probably even worse on the inside of the club.

I can't see them fighting through the wet to win this one. Too hard.

Also very much looking forward to this week's instalment of 'Jack Viney made me cry'. Checking that thread is fast becoming my favourite Monday morning ritual.

Dees by 3 goals.

They are our bunny, at half strength, missing their captain, with a shattered psyche.

We are pretty much playing a lame, brain damaged rabbit with one eye.

I'll be a little upset if we lose.

my biggest concern is a young & hungry essendon side who will want to play for a permanent spot in their 22.. If they compete hard and tackle fiercely we may buckle under the pressure.. The wet weather will give them that chance to make it a real scrap.

Honestly I'm not sure they'll be mentally strong enough after what's happened so far this year. I'm betting on a capitulation and a winning Dees score mitigated only by the wet.

Hate to be a stick in the mud but we did get beaten by their VFL side in NAB cup

NAB cup means nothing.

Melksham is rubbish so no real loss for them. I actually wanted to pick him up in the draft back in the day. after 100 games he hasnt come on. still getting 16 touches, not clever, skills not great

Fark we cant lose this can we? Hird has lost the players I think. they should be rebuidling but the Delusional one will not admit that as it would be another reason to sack him

why do I cr-ap my pants every time we are favourites (esp against the dons)?

10 years of constant dissapointment you say?

yep, that would be it

pity it wont be dry, i would think we could really smash them. I (now) have faith in our leaders. Jones, Vince, Viney etc will not let this one slip.

Melksham and hocking have just been withdrawn from Don's side

Two of the only wet weather players they had left in the team

We are gong to cream them now

Prediction: Dees for 45 pts.

Tyson BOG with 32 and 2 goals (and to dominate the rest of the year)

Garlett to kick 6

Viney to send 2 off on stretchers

I dont think they will be able to stop our hard edged mids in the wet and i expect gawn to dominate the game.

Jack viney to pick up a lazy 32 touches

Chris dawes to kick 4 snags

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
